Does green stool means cancer? I sometimes have this problem along with pellet like stool and constipation. Does this mean colon cancer?
No: Color of stool is affected by your diet. It does not mean one has colon cancer. However, if you see bright red blood/bleeding in your stool- then you should see your doctor for more evaluation to see where is the source of the bleeding. You definitely need to make sure you hydrate (drink water) yourself and increase intake of fibers to help your constipation. ...Read more
I'm 18 years old male, and I'm very very scared that I have colon cancer. I got some symptoms, but no blood. Thin stools, 1st time dark green stool today. Really scared.
So rare: You are more likely to get hit by a bus today than have colon cancer at your age. I'm not sure what symptoms other than "no blood" you refer to, as most colon cancers have no symptoms. If you are having abdominal pains, fullness, nausea, etc - then you should see doctor as there are literally hundreds of conditions other than cancer that could cause symptoms in abdomen. ...Read more

A change in the bowel habit may also suggest a problem. If you feel concerned see your doctor to discuss having a colonoscopy performed. ...Read more

Hello.: Hello. You can get green bowel movements when feces transits too quickly through the colon. Bile makes the stool green. As the stool makes it's way through the colon, water is reabsorbed back into the body, giving firm feces. There is also enough time for the bile to be metabolized leading to brown colored stool. When the feces moves too quickly, usually the bowel movement is loose or liquid. It is normally recommended that if you have a change in your bowel habitus that you advise your doctor. I am not sure about your pain. However, the left side of the colon (descending) can sometimes be involved in conditions that cause diarrhea. Take care. ...Read more

Probable coincidence: Green stool usually is caused by rapid transit - the stool moving through your bowels quickly. What could cause a whitish-green stool? Earlier I passed a whitish-green stool and in the same movement had normal brown stool. What's going on?
What you ate,,: Whatever you ate is the likely cause of your abnormal colored stool. Sometimes if you had a lot of vegetables or fatty foods, it changes the way your stool looks. Fatty foods can make it look lighter in color while red meat may make it darker. Different vegetables can make it look greener. Without any health issues and being that you're young it's likely ok. See your dr. If still concerned. ...Read more
