What are the symptoms of cancer of the mouth, I have knot in my cheek?

Knot=get it checked: Any lump which sticks around for more than a week deserves a medical exam and likely a biopsy. A knot in the cheek could be any number of things, most of which are benign however. Ulcerations or sores on the skin or in the mouth/throat are very concerning, especially if you have a lump or knot anywhere in the head and neck. See your local ENT asap.

Do I have mouth cancer if I have white patches on my cheek?

Very unlikely: Mouth cancer can present rarely this way, however it would b a rare presentation of a rare tumor. There are many more things likely to cause what u describe aside from cancer. If u are concerned and they have been there awhile or are causing issues, I would see both your dentist as well as your md.

I have these small thin white lines on my inner cheek I'm really worried it might be mouth cancer?

I have these small thin white lines on my inner cheek I'm really worried it might be mouth cancer?

Don't worry: If they are horizontal, opposite where your upper and lower back teeth come together, they are normal. That said, any white or red lesions should be investigated. For peace of mind see your very knowledgeable General Dentist or an Oral Surgeon for a an evaluation.

Unlikely is cancer: See oral surgeon or ENT doc if you have any of these symptoms: Persistent mouth sore, persistent mouth pain, a lump or thickening in the cheek, a white/red patch on the gums, tongue, tonsil, or lining of the mouth, a sore throat, hoarseness or feeling that something is caught in the throat that does not go away, difficulty swallowing/chewing.

Red bump on left cheek in mouth! Is it cancer?

Could be several: Things. Please consult with your dentist or an oral surgeon for an exam to check this bump. The most common pink/red cheek bump is called a fibroma which is not cancer. Trauma may have caused this "scar like" bump. However, you really need to have this looked at to make sure it is nothing to worry about or if it needs to be removed and/or biopsied.

For about 2-3 Days, I've had a rough area inside my cheek in my mouth. Now there is one on the other side. Should I worry? Worried I have Oral cancer?

For about 2-3 Days, I've had a rough area inside my cheek in my mouth. Now there is one on the other side. Should I worry? Worried I have Oral cancer?

Not Likely: Cancers do not develop on both sides of the mouth at the same time. It is more likely due to grinding your teeth or a subconscious nervous habit when awake. There are also some benign conditions that can give that "rough " feeling. Have your dentist take a look as it may indicate another (very likely non-cancerous) problem.

Hello I have a reddish, pink swollen and semi -painful bump on the inside of my mouth near the middle to upper part of the inside of my cheek. Cancer?

Need more info: It depends on how long has it been there that you know off? If it is increasing in size and has been there for more than 2-3 weeks, then you need to go see a doctor to get it checked out. It is quite common to have canker sores in the mouth but they heal within 10-15 days with or without treatment. Anything that does not heal in 3-4 weeks is suspect for cancer.

Cancer or normal? It is White skin near back of mouth on cheek, ear really hurts, don't smoke. I am 24 and never had this what is this?

Probably not cancer: Just might be local inflammation with whitish healing ulcer, could be strep throat or thrush, , ear infection or fluid in ear tube maybe causing pain, should be on antibiotic like amox. For 10 days, if doesn't go away see ear/nose/throat dr. Be sure to use nasal saline if nasal congestion and flonase or other nasal steroid and afrin or neasynephrine [3d/wk only] if congested to clear pain.

I have two lumps.1 on the cheek in upper mouth. Visible. Its soft and small.1 inside tounge. Can only feel by pinching. I'm 16.Could it be oral cancer?

HAVE THEM CHECKED: Unfortunately for oral pathology you need to have a dentist screen you for severity, it may be something normal that we see all the time. If not your dentist will send you to an oral surgeon for a second opinion. At your age I would not get too excited about cancer as it may be nothing or something benign that can be removed and forgotten about. Get it checked to assure you are safe and healthy.

I don't smoke and I don't drink I did a biobsy because I had a white patch inside my mouth cheek result came mild epithelial dysplasia is it cancer?

Epithelial Dysplasia: Is a condition that can lead to cancer but is not cancer. As you don't drink or smoke it may possibly resolve on its own or it may progress. Have an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon examine you and review the Pathologist's report. (S)he will advise you what to do next.

I just noticed that I have a purple dot on the inside of my cheek. Its not painful. My lymph nodes are fine & its flat. Shat can it be? Mouth cancer??

Not necessarily: You most likely bit the inside of your check. If the lesion has not resolved on its own in about two weeks, let your dentist take a look and advise you.

Lesion: You did the right thing about seeking a dental evaluation. At your age the risk of oral cancer is very low. The fact that it's small and on your cheek also makes it less likely to be a cancerous lesion. Be aware that smoking of any kind and alcohol consumption increases your risks, especially if you do both. Get six month soft tissue examinations at your dentist. Don't worry.

I have a sore inside my mouth, on my cheek and it feels likea canker sore. However, it doesn't resemble with any of the pictures that I have looked up. Could it be cancer?

Wide variation: It's nice to try to diagnose something yourself by looking at pictures on the internet, but you really need a trained professional to take a look and diagnose this. Canker sores (aphthous ulcers) can vary widely in size, appearance and number.

Mouth lumps: At your age, cancer is highly unlikely, but it isn't impossible. There are a number of non-cancerous lumps or growths that can occur on the tongue and on the mouth. Best to have it checked by an ENT specialist. This way you'll know what your are dealing with and get appropriate treatment.

Oral surgeon said inside of cheek looke and felt like surface of tongue, but, It did not look suspicious of cancer. What could this be?

Inflammation: Chronic inflammation or irritation can look like cobblestone. Rarely growths can, but your surgeon would have done a biopsy if concerned. Try not to mess with it for a while and give it a chance to heal.
