It could be from different causes- including -muskuloskeletal pain, or perhaps inflammation from the sweat glands- then causing reactive lymph node irritation that is located deep inside, vs other inflammation etc. Since you are 57 years old-if you have not updated your mammogram this year-then you should get one. ...Read more
I recently found a lump in my armpit. It's pretty painful. I now have three lumps in my armpit that are painful and slightly red. Cancer symptom?
Not really: Cancer in the armpit essentially represents metastasis to the lymph nodes high up near the axillary vein. They are for the most part painless and would not be associated with redness. I have lumps in my armpits that don't seem to go away. I am only 19 and feel like breast cancer only happens to older people. What could it be?
What to do if I have a small lump under my armpit.. and it feels as though I have lumps in my breasts, too. could this be breast cancer?
Always possible: small lumps in armpit are usually of no concern unless they are enlarging and increasing in number. Lumps in the breast are usually normal since by definition breast tissue is lumpy. A solitary firm lump always requires investigation. Either way a mammo and sono should be performed and any further treatment would proceed from there. ...Read more
Neck, shoulder/armpit, arm pain, and a couple lumps in breast felt by dr. All on l side. I'm 23 years old. Breast cancer?
Not always/depends,,: It doesn't always mean cancer. This can be fibrocystic disease with cysts that come and go with your cycle due to the hormones produced. It can also be benign lumps like fibroadenomas and the neck pain, etc. Can be unrelated. More tests like biopsy and scans may be needed, especially if you've got a family history of breast cancer so see your doctor to talk about what to do. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
It depends on the si: A lumps in the armpit, if you can palpapte it requires examination by your doctor who can then guide you further. Typically this would be an enlarged lymph node which can be due to infection, any inflammation or sometimes cancer in the lymph node. It is hard to tell if it is cancer without physical examination by a doctor and with help from other tests like x-rays or ct scans. Good luck. ...Read more
I have a lump in my armpit it's painless an its been there for a few months. I think it could be cancer.
I bet it's not: If it starts growing or gets stuck to your nearby structures, get it seen. Otherwise, it's probably just the axillary lymph node that many of us have, especially if at some time you had an infection or contact dermatitis on that extremity and it got a little bit scarred up. Glad you're a good observer of your body. ...Read more
