My brother in law has stage 4 cancer spread from nose to throat and neck, but not any futher has had chemo and radiotherpy ( 6 weeks), if cured what chances of coming back, at this is stage what percentage does cure it if any?
Need more info: Even with stage 4 head and neck cancers, some patient do survive. Survival depends in part on the site of origin. For nasopharynx cancers, the seer data (from the national cancer institute) show 37% of patients still alive 10 years after diagnosis. Other sites of origin are better, or worse, than that number. For many yrs used face wash that had triclosan in it.Am i at more risk of nasal/throat cancer?Sometimes got in mouth and in nose from washing face.
Stop worrying: Trislosan is a widely-used, apparently harmless chemical that degrades after being discarded into a form of dioxan that is not one of the forms that has toxicity or is supposed to be linked to cancer. Yes and no: The person to treat thyroid cancer is a head and neck surgeon. If an ENT physician is trained to do radical H&N surgery especially if the lesion is metastatic to nodes or invades jugular and laryngeal cartilage then he should be able to do the surgery. Persistant sore throat for 6 months and blood from throat and nose could this be symptoms of throat cancer. No lump like feeling in neck only pain.
Possibly: Symptoms of throat cancer do include a sore throat that doesn't go away as well as occasional bleeding. Although throat cancer is not common in a young person who has never smoked, it is becoming more frequent due to human papilloma virus (HPV).
