I'm using this product by Solaray called Fertility blend SP-1 damaiana-eleuthero with homeopathic nutrients I just started today hoping this will help?
Hope so too... : There are many different reasons for infertility. Without knowing why you're having fertility issues it's impossible to know if these herbs will help. They have the potential to help but there have been no studies to tell just how many are helped by this product.I read testimonials from women who got pregnant after using it but we can't know if this would have happened anyway. But it's safe to try. ...Read more

I just read something about a product called "Herpes Cleanse" it breaks down the ICP47 barrier and the virus itself. But would it actually work?
It's a scam: ICP47 is an HSV gene; inhibiting it in theory could be the basis of herpes treatment. But Herpes Cleanse is a quack product that has no effect on ICP47 or the virus. Do not waste your money on it. The ONLY treatments effective against herpes are the traditional antiviral drugs, i.e. acyclovir, valacyclovir, and famciclovir. Also forget docosanol (Abreva), lysine, and other "natural" products. ...Read more
Hi docs, is it true that providone, methylparen, propylbaraben are the same ingredients as oxycondone?
No: although the spelling isn't right, I think you are referring to parabens, which are preservatives that are used in many pills. They have no known intrinsic activity and are in the pill to stabilize the formula. Oxycodone is a semi-synthetic opiate and is the main ingredient in the tablet. Tablets and capsules may also contain sulfites, drying agents, food colorings and other substances as well. ...Read more
I am drinking Berkley & Jensen sparkling water cranberry raspberry flavor. I read in the ingredient that it has Sucralose. Is this good for you?
Artificial Sweetner: Look up Sucralose, eg. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sucralose. Since sugars (carbohydrates) are the primary driver of obesity, Diabetes Mellitus, atherosclerosis & cancer, this is likely a better alternative to real sugars. However, it tastes sweet, stimulates insulin, fat storage & reduces ketosis (burning fat), so not perfect. Suggest study: dietdoctor.com, FatChance.html, etc. ...Read more
Came across a product named "4life transfer factor plus tri-factor", whether this product is recommended for chronic constipation or it is just scam?
See a GI: Foods high in fat tend to constipate you. Foods high in fiber favor looser stools. Fruits vegetable, whole grains are excellent sources of fiber. Also, fiber only works if u are well hydrated so increase water, juice etc. See a GI specialist to rule out another cause of your problem. Fiber supplements then be added until you have regular bms. A colonoscopy can rule out a polyp or blockage. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Triclosan: Triclosan is an anti-bacterial ingredient found in a variety of soaps. There is a concern that Triclosan poses some health risks, and should be avoided. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Marketing hokum: P. T. Barnum said you would never get poor on under estimating the gullibility of the American public. Above is another example of same. A good water filtration system will purify the drinking water for you. That that particular system uses three sets of filters presumably of different sizes to do the job is fine. It is mainly marketing though. They do what's necessary. ...Read more
I am taking anti gray supplements by a company called biovea that contains catalase, is it safe or should I stop using it ?
Yes; Yes: Catalase is a normal body enzyme which is in our blood and cells which breaks down hydrogen peroxide. There is no reason to believe à priori that your body is not producing it in appropriate amounts or in excessive amounts, and if you were doing so in your hair producing cells that taking this enzyme by mouth would somehow get up to your scalp and stop your hair from turning gray. Just relax 'n nj ...Read more
Our dr. Made "miracle mouthwash." this is what it says on the bottle: "tetra/nysta/hydro/q-dry/cherr." what do each of these mean?
BB Creams: Cosmetic item sold mainly in east & southeast asia, but larger beauty brands (garnier, dr. Jart, dior. Sephora, clinique, & maybelline) are introducing it to western markets. Due to its "multi-tasking" all-in-one properties — moisturizer, primer, foundation, and sunblock — the cream is a hit in asia; some perceive it as anti-inflammatory. No apparent scientific studies to support claims. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Does venlafaxine XR really expire? If the bottle of pills begins to smell like vinegar, is this a sign of expiry?
Yes..: All drugs really expire at some point. I would definitely consider them expired or past their prime if they smell like vinegar- that's not normal! In general you should practice not taking pills that have already expired- to avoid getting sick and because they may not be as effective. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
