Finished amox500mg3xday today, isitok to take 600mgclindamycin before root canal tomorrow as prophalxis for aortic stenosis?
Ask YOUR Dr.: Dr. Davantzis gave you an excellent answer and i fully agree with him. The only thing that i would like to add is this: patients should always discuss these types of issues with the health care provider that is actually treating them, and should not rely on internet research or even asking doctors online for what medications to take. We try to be helpful but your own doctor is the one responsible. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Abscessed tooth, draining so dentist (back home in Iowa) didn't give me antibiotics. Live in Texas, need dentist ASAP?
ER: When you have a toothache, the only ways to eliminate the cause of the problem is to directly treat the tooth. If you can not afford a dentist, try finding a free or sliding fee scale dental clinic (call the state dental association). If this fails, go to the er who will likely give you vicodin and maybe antibiotics along with telling you to see a dentist. There is no otc cure. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Can't use epinephrine i get rapid heart rate, endodontist wants to give me 20 mg Valium crushed 1/2 hour before root canal. Is this ok?
Epinephrine: After over 40 years of dental practice I have had only a handful of patients who truly are sensitive to Epinephrine in local anesthetics. Almost all patient who say they react with an increased heart rate do so because of the release of their own epi due to anxiety, or react from poor injection technique. Ask your dentist about the use of sweet air instead of valium. Btw ok with precautions. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
