Not great: Doxycycline would not be my first choice of antibiotics. I agree that if you feel like you have a "sinus infection" and it has been only 2-3 days.. It may in fact be a viral respiratory infection (common cold). Probably yes, but...: Bacterial conjunctivitis normally is treated with antibiotic eyedrops, doesn't usually need antibiotics by mouth. Also most conjunctivitis is viral, not bacterial, and will not respond to any antibiotic. If your doctor prescribed cephalexain (Keflex), take it as directed. Concur: I concur w the other drs. That have answered this question that penicillin is the antibiotic of choice to control dental infection. Notice i said control, not cure. To cure the infection you must physically remove the infected tooth material (root canal or extraction).
