Could your liver make your back hurt?

Could your liver make your back hurt?

Maybe gallstones?: Stones in the gallbladder (gb) can project pain to the back --they migrate into the neck of the gb (& block exit of bile) or into the common bile duct. Symptomless gallstones may be diagnosed by chance by imaging or during investigation for some other condition. Only 10% become symptomatic within 5 years of detection. Ultrasound, CT scan, MRCP find stones & CCK-HIDA scan can suggest dysfunction. ...Read more

What is fatty liver and what causes it. What is the sideeffects. My side on left an my stomach is fat back pain have kidney problem hurt all the time.

Hello.: Hello. I don’t know what the cause of your fatty liver is. However, a major cause of fatty liver is drinking too much alcohol. Alcohol use combined with poor diet, obesity, abnormally high iron levels and hepatitis c can increase the chances of getting fatty liver. There are also people who have fatty livers who don’t have an illness and who don’t drink. Some people can develop a fatty liver off drinking really heavily for a weekend, and the fat decreases when they stop drinking. In your case, it would be best to get specific input from your doctor as s/he can put this in the context of your total health picture. Take care. ...Read more

I went to the ER and they say I may have a liver infection, I don't have jaundice though. I feel nausious, my right side hurts, and my back hurts?

High transaminases: Hi. They probably did a blood test and found hi liver enzymes (transaminases, ALT and AST). Elevations of ALT & AST are NOT specific for liver infection, however. They will test for hepatitis viruses, but for other non-infectious causes of hepatitis as well (such as fatty liver, iron overload, autoimmune liver disease, etc, etc). Follow up with your doctor to get to the bottom of this. Good luck! ...Read more
