Can Your Inside Become Twisted After A Total Hysterectomy Due To Endometriosis And Ovarian Cysts
I had a total hysterectomy 3 weeks ago for early stage endometrial cancer, the surgeon also found an ovarian cyst. Is this likely to be cancerous?
Possible: It's certainly possible that your cyst is malignant but not likely. The vast majority of ovarian cysts are benign. If you had the cyst removed, a pathology report would have been generated and will have the information you seek. Best of luck. ...Read more
A cyst is a structure or mass that consists of a cellular lined sac. It is typically filled with fluid but may be filled with solid material. It can be congenital, traumatic, or acquired. They may develop nearly anywhere in the body and usually require complete excision for eradication or they are likely to recur. Fluid filled sacs that are not cellular lined ...Read more
Hello there! What to do after a total hysterectomy with ovaries left In place. Now having pelvic pain and had ultrasound which showed ovarian cysts?
How long will menopause last?? I'm 31 y/o & had a total hysterectomy 4 weeks ago. I had it due to ovarian cysts & the family history risk of cancer
The rest of. ....: Your life! Thirrty-one is very young to have your ovaries removed and you will need hormone replacement therapy, likely, for your entire life in order to prevent bone thinning and, probably, heart disease. The symptoms of ovarian deficiency would be most severe right now, but you are 20 years away from natural menopause. Even if symptoms improve you will still be in menopause. Good wishes:) ...Read more
Having a laparoscopic full hysterectomy in 2007 due to ovarian cysts and endometriosis I have noticed an odor after sex. No other changes or issues that I have noticed however. No itching, pain etc. What can cause this?
Vaginal odor: There is a condition called "bacterial vaginosis", which does produce an unpleasant odor. This can be treated with antibiotics, but if your partner has "other contacts" it can recur. Ask your gyn provider for an exam and treatment. ...Read more
I have endometriosis and fibroid tumors (occasionally ovarian cysts). OB recommend hysterectomy. Read about Acessa. Wondering: procedure any good?
Perhaps not for you: Acessa is a novel, fairly good and very promising procedure for treating uterine fibroids and preserve the uterus. Its success depends often on the size, location and number of fibroids in a uterus. It is not a treatment for endometriosis. Hysterectomy laparoscopic, transabdominal or transvaginal at this point in your life may not be a bad recommendation, particularly if you are very symptomatic ...Read more

Month after hysterectomy found I have a complex septated ovarian cyst. 11/11 was 2.3cm, 12/23 3 cm, 12/31 3.8 cm. A lot of pain. Should I be concerned?
Obgyn evaluation: Most ovarian cysts are benign and resolve on their own. You will need to see your Obgyn and have them evaluate it. They can determine if treatment is warranted of if this is a typical cyst that will resolve spontaneously ...Read more
Hi.......I have a 3.8 cm hemorrhagic right ovarian cyst. I will be 50 yrs old and not menopausal. Had a hysterectomy 10 yrs ago. What should I do?
Watch it...: Hemorrhagic ovarian cysts usually go away on their own without surgical intervention. If it isn't too painful, its usually ok to repeat the u/s in a few months to make sure it is gone. If it is very painful, it can be removed surgically. Best wishes! ...Read more
I have been experiencing shooting vaginal pains for three days. I'm 64, radical hysterectomy in 1983, one ovary saved. Could this be an ovarian cyst?
Broad differential.: The differential diagnosis is broad. The cause of your pain could indeed be ovarian in etiology. However, it is not uncommon for other disease processes (such as kidney stones) to refer to groin area as well. More history, exam, and possible imaging studies may be needed to give you a good answer. Hope this helps! ...Read more

I had a partial hysterectomy in 2004. Is it possible to have ovarian cysts twelve years later? In alot of pain and don't know what to do
I've had ovarian cysts and painful bursts almost every month for years. Even more often since my partial hysterectomy February 2013. Help.
OCPs or surgery: You could take OCPs to suppress ovulation, as that's when these cysts usually start. The other option would be to have one or both ovaries removed, which can be done laparoscopically. However, if both ovaries are removed, you will need to take hormone replacement, especially at your age. ...Read more

An MRI of the spine showed a 5.9cm ovarian cyst. I had a Partial Hysterectomy 25 years ago. Should I be concerned I'm 50 years old.
Need eval by Gyn onc: It would be wise to have a pelvic ultrasound, consult a Gyn oncologist and have your ovarian cyst evaluated further. Ultimately, either exploratory laparoscopic surgery or laparotomic oophorectomy may be needed to make a definitive diagnosis. Unfortunately there is no other accurate and reliable way to reassure you that your ovarian cyst is benign, even though most ovarian cysts are. ...Read more
Sodium 139, K 3.3 L, Chloride 109 H, CO2 25. Should I be concerned about electrolyte imbalance+upcoming hysterectomy/oophorectomy for ovarian cysts?
I have long suffered with a crippling menstrual cycle. I'm only 23, but I've had ovarian cysts. Is a partial or full hysterectomy best for me?
Start medically: Because of your age most people would start with medical treatments such as birth control pills or Lupron (leuprolide) or iud. Or do laparoscopy. It is also important to know what's the cause of the pain to know if a hysterectomy would help. Also knowing the cause would determine if the ovaries need to be removed - a full hysterectomy. ...Read more
