Can normal basal body temperature be lower than 37c?

Sure: Certainly, 37c corresponds to 98.6 f - normal human bodies can be several degrees up or down without being abnormal, and many factors including environment can affect this.

Can you chart your basal body temperature if you get up several times a night?

Not as accurate: It becomes less accurate. And BBT charts although they work are often very difficult to do and very inaccurate. Better just to have regular sex. Bbt does not increase your chances of pregnancy.

Does the Mirena IUD affect your basal body temperature from your normal state?

Does the Mirena IUD affect your basal body temperature from your normal state?

No: The small amount of Progesterone in Mirena provides a local effect on cervcal mucous and the endometrial cavity. It would not affect basal body temperature. I am curious why you are monitoring your basal body temperature while using a Mirena IUD.

How soon after sex is an egg fertilized? How soon after fertilization will your basal body temperature rise and implatation bleeding appear?

How soon after sex is an egg fertilized? How soon after fertilization will your basal body temperature rise and implatation bleeding appear?

Varies: The egg typical survives and awaits fertilization in the reproductive tract for up to 24 hours. Basal body temperature rises not from fertilization but from the increase in Progesterone as a result of the lh surge at the time of ovluation. This surge is what is detected in home ovulation predictor kits. Implantation bleeding is inconsistent sign of pregnancy but can occur 1week after fertilizes.

Does minocycline raise your basal body temperature? I want to chart my temperature for natural birth control but i'm on minocycline.

Does minocycline raise your basal body temperature? I want to chart my temperature for natural birth control but i'm on minocycline.

Be careful: Minocycline would not affect your temperature. Bbt charting is the most effective method of birth control and it is not safe to get pregnant on minocycline. I would consider seeing your gyn to discuss a more effective method of birth control.

What is basal body temperature?

Early morning temp: The basal body temperature is the temperature your body is at when you first wake up, before you get moving for the day. We use it to check for when your body releases an egg. It can only be measured with a special thermometer which reads temperature at a more accurate scale.

What is basal body temperature? Bbt

Progesterone effect: After ovulation rise in Progesterone increases body temperature about 0.5 degrees c. Length of that rise in temperature indicates Progesterone production continues long enough (>8d is good). Better method of identifying ovulation before it takes place is the ovulation predictor kit (about 24 hours).

What is basal body temperature and how do you get it?

What is basal body temperature and how do you get it?

First AM Temp: Temp before getting up in the morning. Should be done in bed prior to sitting up. This temperature rises about 1/2 degree after ovulation. Not very accurate and very stressful for patients. If cycles are regular, 28 days then you most likely ovulate mid cycle, and if not, you should seek some help.

What is the best method to find basal body temperature?

What is the best method to find basal body temperature?

Not accurate: As you first wake up place a basal body thermometer underneath your tongue for approximately 3 minutes. A digital thermometer is easier and more convenient. Unfortunately basal body temperature taking is very confusing. Any type of movement or any type of activity prior to awakening in taking the temperature will falsely elevated the temperature. Also when the temperature has risen approximately .6 to 1° ovulation has already occurred.

17
What amount does basal body temperature thermoneters cost?

Don't bother: Don't use basal body temperature testing ... too tedious and prone to inaccuracies. Use the urine ovulation predictor kits instead.
