If I don't take my placebo pills, will I still get my period? Do I have to take them?

No need to take them: If you do not take your Placebo Pills, you will still get your period provided you wait the same amount of days as the number of placebo pills before starting your next pill pack. If your pill pack has 21 active and 7 placebo pills, then start the next pill pack on Day #8 AFTER finishing your 21 active pills. If your pill pack had 4 placebo pills, then start next pill pack on Day #5. ...Read more

If you get pregnant while in birth control pills would you still get a period during placebo week?

Possibly yes: Whether on birth control or not, typically women who conceived will not get a menstrual period. However, some women do have their menstrual periods sometimes just a few cycles into their pregnancies, occasionally throughout the entire pregnancy. Having had a menstrual period is not a reliable indicator for a woman that she is not pregnant. ...Read more

Start the new pack.: It is not uncommon to skip a period while taking a birth control pill. This does not mean that you are pregnant. That being said, no birth control method is perfect. If you are concerned or have other signs of pregnancy then take a home test. Hope this helps. ...Read more

If you took your...: ... active pills while you were on your period, then you may have none left. If you wait another week to start your next pack, you could ovulate during that cycle. The safest thing is to start your next pack now. If the problem recurs, let your doctor know. Break thru bleeding & early periods may indicate that you need either higher dose or "stronger" OCP's to prevent pregnancy. ...Read more

Is birth control pill still effective if you get your period at a time other than the placebo week?

Breakthrough bleedin: Breakthrough bleeding (bleeding at the wrong time) is very common on birth control. It happens in about 1/3 of users. Its no big deal and usually self corrects over time. If you are not satisfied or it continues to happen then consider using a different birth control method. Skipped Yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) placebo pills a week ago but want to induce my period. is it safe to take the placebo pills this week or should i wait for the next cycle?

WAIT!: If I understand you correctly, taking the second round of placebo right after the first, you could easily ovulate with this cycle. Generally, the worst time to miss pills is during the first week of active pills. The Pill needs to be taken as prescribed in order to be maximally effective at preventing pregnancy. If I misunderstood, please resubmit your ? with clarification. ...Read more

Birthcontrol If I take placebo pills, does it stop my period or will still have my period? What happen if I don't take the placebo pill & start a new

Things don't change: The last week of pills in a 28-day pack are "inactive", so they do not change the effectiveness of the birth control pills if those last 7 pills are not taken. That means the effectiveness of the pack of pills is just as good, if one takes all 28 pills, or if one takes the first 21 pills, then takes nothing for 7 days, and then starts her next new pack of 28 pills. Withdrawal period still happens. ...Read more

Day 2 of placebos(get period day 3) condom broke guy ejaculated inside.Took Take Action less than hr after.Period still came next day.Did it not work?

?Question: Not quite sure what your question is? It sounds like you're having your period. If you are having you period, that means your egg was not fertilized and you are NOT pregnant. It also sounds like you had sex on or right near your period which would not be near ovulation or the fertile time for you to get pregnant anyway. I recommend you use the computer or library to educate yourself on ur cycle. ...Read more

On bc year & a half, always take it on time & use condom. Always get period on the first or second placebo pill & now I'm on my third with no symptoms?

Not to worry: Your period will probably come in another day or two. This is not unusual. Not getting your period at all could even happen....hormonal fluctuations continue even when you are on the pill. I would not worry about pregnancy, but if another cycle goes by without withdrawal bleeding, you should contact your doctor to discuss. Best wishes:) ...Read more

Should be safe: Missing a single pill in week three will not lead to ovulation in most if not all cases. Taking a second pill the next day was the right thing to do.

Used correctly, ocps have a 99% success rate over the course of a year. In actual practice, they are about 92% effective, mostly because people miss pills from time to time, as you have. ...Read more
