No: Only rewetting drops that are designed for contact lens use should be used with contacts in place.
No: You should not use any medicated eye drops with contacts in your eyes. Wait five minutes before putting in contacts after you have instilled eye drops.
If I use Clear Eyes redness relief eye drops, can I put my contacts back in after putting the drops in?
Not a good idea: The drops that are entitled "gets the red out" are drying. Your best bet is to abandon these and use lubricating or tear replacement drops. These will enhance the tear pool which is a good support for your contact lenses. Use gets the red out drops only for those infrequent times when you might do something like having a picture taken.
No: No medication eye drops should be used with the contact on because they act like a sponge absorbing the medication. I also discourage the use of any "get the red out" drops as they may lead to chronic redness. A simple artificial tear is better.
No: The only drops that can be used with contact lenses in place are rewetting drops for contact lens use. If you have red eyes, you should not wear your contacts anyway until the redness is resolved.

Stop them: Use plain artificial tears instead. Visine and clear eyes contain vasoconstrictors that make your eyes less red by constricting the blood vessels. They are not good for you. They are physically addictive. Now, your eyes must go through a withdrawal period. Treat the underlying cause, and wait for your eyes to get better. See an eye md to see if there is more than dryness.See 1 more doctor answer

Treating the problem: Over the counter redness drops do not treat the cause of the redness and can lead to worsening red eyes if used for more than a few days. Stop using them and see an ophthalmologist to discover why they are red.
Seeing your doctor: Visine and clear eyes are temporary and sometimes harmful treatment on long term. They should not be used more than 2 times daily at most for about a couple of weeks, or you can get a rebound redness that is hard to treat. You have to find the cause of your red eyes and that be treated. See your primary care dr. Initially to see if a referral to an eye md is needed.
I have rebound hyperemia from using clear eyes. Will the redness go away? Or are my vessels permanently enlarged? I used it every day for 2 months.
Perhaps, but beware!: Visine or clear eyes are otc eye drops sold for red or itchy eyes. These medications work primarily by vasoconstriction of the inflamed blood vessels of the outer layer of the eye--common to eye allergies or irritation. However, these are not useful for red eyes due to infection. It is best to consult with your eye doctor to select the best treatment for you. An eye antibiotic may prove better.
Rebound dilation: This is a problem called rebound dilation. Clear eyes and visine contain drugs which constrict the blood vessels in the eye making the eye appear white. This works well if used once in a while. If used chronically, the blood vessels stop responding and stay dilated due to lack of oxygen. This results in redness. Stop using the drops and see your eye doctor.
Naah: You'l get addicted to it and then you'll be forced to take it every day. Do you wear contacts? Some people have whiter eyes than others. Its often not a disease. Eyes feel dry? Try plain lubricating drops.See 1 more doctor answer
