Can You Take Tylenol With Prednisone
Prednisone is a synthetic cortisone. The body makes cortisone, a natural hormone made in adrenal glands. The body converts it to Hydrocortisone to become active. 25 mg of cortisone has about same effect as 5 mgm prednisone. The average person would produce 3-6 mg of pred daily. So why use a substitute? The synthetic has more anti-inflammatory effect; but has less effect ...Read more

I'm on prednisone for an allergic reaction to something unknown. I also have chronic leg pain. What is safe to take besides Tylenol?
NSAID is ok: You may also try NSAID with the understanding that your stomach will more likely to get upset because of the prednisone. Taking OTC antacid medication may help reduce the side effects. There are also topical (Rx) NSAID available as well. I am puzzled as to what kind of allergic reaction you are taking prednisone for. ...Read more
Can I take prednisone and proair inhaler together and if needed Tylenol and robitussin dnt? I also take Zoloft 50mg at night. I'm 42 years old.
I have a lymph node in my neck that is super, super painful. I'm taking tylenol and 800 mg ibuprofen plus augmentin and prednisone. Is there anything else that can help?
Reactive lymph node: It sounds like you are treating an infection. The location appears unclear, but seems to suggest the ear, nose and throat region. The lymph node is reactive and should regress per treatment. The only suggestion I have would be to take either Ibuprofen or Prednisone, both anti-inflammatory, both with somewhat similar side effect profile. Hydration and rest are critical. ...Read more

I was prescribed Zpak, Prednisone, and Acetaminophen/Codeine syrup for Bronchitis. Should this be helpful?
The ZPak is a good broad spectrum antibiotic and Prednisone will treat inflammation, particularly if you had wheezing on exam.
The cough syrup combined with Tylenol (acetaminophen) can help with fever and cough. I usually advise using Tylenol (acetaminophen) only for fever and a cough preparation only if you need it to sleep.
Most bronchial infections though are viral and not treated with antibiotics. ...Read more
What else can I do. Iam am having severe back pain, on nsaids, norco, (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) prednisone, muscle relaxers but still have horrible pain. Ca?
Back pain: I will assume you've seen a doctor already given the medications you are taking. Since the pain occurred after trauma, did you have any xrays or ct? A good history and exam can usually distinguish musculoskeletal pain from cancer related back pain. Sometimes the only cure for back pain is time to heal. It is important that you continue to follow-up with your doctor as an MRI may be necessary. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Either.: You can take Tylenol (acetaminophen) AND Advil OR Aleve. Do not take both Aleve and Advil as they are the same class (NSAIDs). If you wish for more pain control, you can take tylenol (acetaminophen) as directed & also take one of the NSAID's in between Tylenol (acetaminophen) doses. Don't exceed the rec. Dose of either one. But you may take the recommended dose of each, just not within an hour of each other. Using them both increases relief. ...Read more
I'm prescribed antibiotics & prednisone for chronic sinusitis, I don't want to take the prednisone, would tylenol (acetaminophen) work just as well?
Not really: The Prednisone that you were prescribed is not necessary for treatment for your chronic sinusitis. It was given to you to help reduce the symptoms of sinusitis, such as pain and inflammation in your sinuses. Tylenol (acetaminophen) would not work as well since it is not an anti-inflammatory. You can take Ibuprofen or Naproxen instead of the prednisone, if you don't have any contraindications to those medications. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Tylenol (acetaminophen) PM: Contains a sedating antihistamine known as diphenhydramine (aka Benadryl) and the purpose is to help people fall asleep. So it's not unexpected that a sleep aid would cause people to be sleepy. On the other hand, in some people it can cause insomnia. Drugs do tend to have the desired effect in most, but not all people. If you want a drug that doesn't make you sleepy, use regular Tylenol (acetaminophen). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
How long can you take tylenol (acetaminophen) pm (i.E. How many consecutive nights) for it to remain effective and safe?
Efficacy not good: In spite of the fact that it seems that many people are able take Benadryl for days on end and it still works, I really don't see any necessity of adding in the tylenol (acetaminophen). And studies on Benadryl alone, most people lose its efficacy in lab studies after about three days of use. Then they have to wait several days before it will actually work again. Add to that the impairment of driving in the morning that has been documented in studies and the potential for weight gain and Benadryl and you really do not have a very ideal sleep medication there. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
What is cla?:
If you mean conjugated linoleic acid, then this should not be an issue with prednisone.
Any concerns about drug-drug or drug-supplement interactions should be further discussed with your pharmacist however who can run an interaction check with their software.
Many supplements however don't necessarily have a lot of data on interactions or even ideal dosing. ...Read more
