I have a 10-year-old girl who has been taken loratadine for a week and now she says she that her head hurts can I give tylenol (acetaminophen) or motrin?
Yes but: I suspect that her headache may be from nasal congestion which loratadine has no effect on. Consider trying a nasal steroid for a few days and see if this works better. Yes you can give her Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin but it will not be that effective if the nasal congestion is causing the problem. If no response to nasal steroid, see your doctor. ...Read more

I have a throbbing headache w/ major congestion. Been taking claritin-d, tylenol+ Mucinex (guaifenesin) for a few days but nothing helps. Any other suggestions?
My daughter is 2 and she has cough and running nose and that has led to a rise in temperature. I have given her loratadine. Can i also give her tyleno?
I think yes.:
Only if by 2 you mean 2 yrs and not 2 days or 2 weeks., or even 2 months. For a 2 yo with a fever tylenol (acetaminophen) is acceptable and you should dose it at 10 to 15 mg per kilo of weight, give it 4 – 6 hrs apart.
I do no recommend the tylenol (acetaminophen) Motrin game that er's have been doing lately. Fever tends to last about 4 days.
If your child is very sick with or w/o fever you should see ur doctor. Good luck. ...Read more
