I'm on antibiotics (amoxicillin) andhave the worst stomach aches /heartburn. Can i take Prilosec and Zantac (ranitidine) or will that counteract the amox?
Take either: I can't recall any reason not to use either medicine for your discomfort. They should have no effect at all on the activities of the antibiotic. Your stomach meds work there & the capsule encases the abx so it glides past the stomach so it avoids the stomach acid. It is absorbed in the intestines before it starts to work. ...Read more
Depends on what for: Generally "GI cocktail" is antacid/anti-gas/numbing medicines. Taken when symptoms e.g. heartburn/dyspepsia occur, often to distinguish causes but not as long-term remedy - thus when taken depends more on when sxs than necessarily timing of meals. I see you are on tetracycline, that can make you nauseous. ...Read more

Typo?: Tylenol (acetaminophen) should be used every six hours, as should advil (400mg). If having bad aches or fevers / or both, offset dose times by 3 hours for one med. Ex.: tylenol (acetaminophen) @ 06, 12, 6p, mn and then advil at 09, 3p, 9p, 3a. If that uncomfortable, probably should see your dr. Or an urgent care. ...Read more
