Can You Take Nexium While Pregnant

According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
Yes: Nexium (esomeprazole) is prescription drug for reflux known as a ppi (proton-pump inhibitor), which inhibits the acid pumps in your stomach from pumping away...Which is a good thing if you're 8 months pregnant after a double-cheese pizza! But over-the-counter ppis are also considered safe in pregnancy and nursing, like Omeprazole (prilosec) and Lansoprazole (prevacid).See 1 more doctor answer
I take Nexium (esomeprazole) for acid reflux and have some slight sinus problems. Every morning I get sick what is causing this? I'm not pregnant by the way.
See your doctor: Your acid reflux may not be under full control, and you just need to follow up with your doctor to see if the medication is working, or if there's something else going on. The stomach is an organ that can make you feel sick, or nauseous if something is going on. Best to have it checked out.
1 1/2 weeks I get nausea after all foods no gallbladder not pregnant 53 yr old female. Why? Treatment suggestions? Take Nexium (esomeprazole) daily
H. Pylori: You need an upper GI or endoscopy and blood or sample testing for the h. Pylori infection of your stomach lining.
I have acid reflux and I'm pregnant. I was on Nexium (esomeprazole) and my doctor said I can't take. She gave me Zantac but not strong enough. What can I do now?
Contact your doctor: About this problem. There are alternatives to your current regemin.
Not sure if pregnant yet, had unprotected sex before egg was released, I never took my Nexium (esomeprazole) pills for erosive esophagitis. Does it affect pregnancy?
I am 9 weeks pregnant. I am on 40 mg. Nexium (esomeprazole). I have severe burning in my chest! Tums don't touch it! What else can I do?
Maalox: It works great! Use as directed, of course.
Bad gerd during pregnancy- after I started feeling like food was getting stuck in throat. Took nexium for 2 weeks and it resolved, stopped taking it and now feeling that kind of stuck feeling again. Should I have kept taking nexium longer?
GERD: As long as your OB is okay with taking Nexium, then start it again.
I just found out that im 5 weeks preagnant, few weeks before I took Nexium (esomeprazole) for acid reflux and sertraline for panic attacks. Is that safe for the baby?
Likely OK: Nexium (esomeprazole) not a problem. The jury is not in yet on sertraline during pregnancy. The problems that have been suspected with sertraline appear to be more of a problem later in pregnancy, closer to delivery, with some of these meds being suspected to be involved in some cardiac/breathing problems in newborns at the time of birth with a condition called persistent pulmonary hypertension.
I'm on morphine, flexeril, vimovo (esomeprazole and naproxen) and lyrica. I have had a blood test and at home pregnancy tests all negative but feel pregnant can they all be wrong?
These: Medications would not interfere with pgx test. Some of the side effects of these drugs can make you feel bloated, or irritate your stomach.
Yes: Yes it is possible to take both on a daily basis.
It might not help: Nexium (esomeprazole) is not helping with the reflux, it helps to reduce the stomach acidity. If your baby on a liquid diet, it's physiologic for them to have a reflux. Try elevated head of the bed, thickened the food, efficient burping technique. But I would not recommend Nexium (esomeprazole) for a small baby. It mess up with the digestion and promote unhealthy bacterial overgrowth.
Probably fine: Linzess (linaclotide) is usually taken on an empty stomach, about 30 minutes before breakfast. If taken soon after a high-fat meal, it can cause diarrhea or more frequent movements. I would avoid taking both Nexium (esomeprazole) and Linzess on the same day if Nexium (esomeprazole) has ever caused you to have diarrhea (a possible side effect).
B12eficiency/headach: Lon term use of Nexium (esomeprazole) can some time cause atrophic gastritis, vit b12deficiency. But is relatively safe in recommended dose of 40 or 20 mgm daily domperidone is not available by prescription in us as it has not been approved by fda.It is a controversial drug even in uk and in my opinion should not be used long term, can cause chronic headaches, abdominal cramps, and dry mouth.Drinking water can help.
