Call Poison Control: I suggest you do what we would do in the office and call the poison control center, 1-800-222-1222, and ask for advice. Though I should add, if there is any question of seriousness, get to the er asap.
Yes: Yes. They are two different classes of medication and should act together to help pain.
Opiate and NSAID: Yes. Most of the inflammatory pain syndromes would be treated with hydrocodone as well as NSAID such as ibuprofen or naprosyn (naproxen). However, plesae remember that these medications when taken long term can cause damage to the liver, kidneys and even the heart. For short term they are fine if you don't already have any other medical problems.See 1 more doctor answer
Bleeding: Yes - not a good idea. Nsaid's also are know for causing bleeding.
Most likely: Naprosyn (naproxen) is not directly related to Acetaminophen so it would be unlikely that you would have a sensitivity to acetaminophen. If you've never taken Acetaminophen before i'd suggest taking a small dose to confirm it is in fact safe. If symptoms of an allergic reaction do occur seek medical attention quickly.

I have suffered with chronic pain in only the left top portion of my back. I take naprosyn, (naproxen) but it only helps a little. I have had this pain for 6 months. What should I do? I don't have insurance.
Ultimately, See Doc: An ice pack, cold massage, heating pad, or warm compress applied to the area may help to reduce pain. Use nonprescription pain drugs such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or acetaminophen. As pain eases, stretch & strengthen. Focus on back and abdominal strength, flexibility, and posture. To learn more: national institute of arthritis & musculoskeletal & skin disorders, www. Niams. How long should I wait to take pain relievers after finishing a naprosyn (naproxen) prescription?
Hi, I was at the ER today and the doctor prescribed Naprosyn (naproxen) 375 mg 3 times a day. I already have Naproxen at home but it is 500 mg. Can I take that?
OK to take 500,: Although it's always best to err on the side of caution. With anti-inflammatory medications, take the lowest dose that gives you relief. Chronic use of anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) can be rough on the kidneys. Taking a slightly higher dose than prescribed should be OK for a short period.
I have little swelling on outside of vagina after my period. Whether use of sanitary napkins can cause it? What should I do? Shall I take naprosyn (naproxen)?
I had a baby 4 mo ago & was recently diagnosed with tendonitis in my wrist. My dr gave me naprosyn (naproxen) & a Medrol pack. Is it safe to take these 2gethr?
I wouldn't: I usually don't have my patients take an nsaid together with a Medrol (methylprednisolone) dose pack I believe they both can cause gi side effects and taking them both at the same time can increase potential risks I usually stop the nsaids while the patient is on the Medrol (methylprednisolone) packSee 1 more doctor answer
I've had a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and I've been told to avoid ibuprofen products can I take Naprosyn (naproxen)?
That's an Ibuprofen-: Like compound, known as NSAIDS (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug). It's also known as Aleve (naproxen) too OTC. This class produces gastritis or stomach lining irritation and worse without food. So this is why when you are getting gastric bypass surgery, and have little space hold food in, the NSAIDS can wreak havoc on your stomach's lining and cause you pain and distress.See 1 more doctor answer
When expired?: Depends on how long ago it expired and the conditions in which it was kept. The expiration date includes for most medication an extra years worth of safety (not true for many drugs, particularly injectables). I would not fret if were a year expired.See 1 more doctor answer
Depends: Methocarbamol comes in 500 mg and 750 mg forms - 3 of the 500 mg tabs would be ok, whereas 3 of the 750 is above the recommended dose. Side effects could include slowed heart rate, decreased blood pressure, confusion, sleepiness, etc. Presumably it's out of your system by now but if you're still having side effects, see a physician.
