Alcohol intake is associated with reduced restenosis after PTCA and stent implantation.
There should be no issue taking alcohol as long as it is immoderation - make sure you don't have your own definition of moderation. Usually 7-8 Units in a week should be ok ( it is not a recommendation from me) if you drink regularly and can't do WITHOUT IT. ...Read more
Depends: Depends on what kind of eyedrops taken for what kind of problem, as well as how much alcohol. Really cannot fully answer the question without knowing the above. Drinking alcohol itself also can irritate the eye, causing expansion of small blood vessels, so if you are taking it for eye irritation, you may be adding to the irritation by drinking. ...Read more
Several factors determine how intoxicated a person will become (and thus their risk of posioning) when consuming alcohol
1) size- the smaller the individual, the less alcohol required to become intoxicated
2) time- because the body metabolizes alcohol, drinking spread out over a number of hours lessons the effect
3) tolerance- because of tolerance- the more often you drink, the less the effect. ...Read more

Alcohol has an approximate detection time of 12-24 hours in urine. People who achieve a moderate level of intoxication (0.10% blood alcohol content - bac) are detectable about 8 hours after achieving that level. The interesting fact is that alcohol is absorbed into the blood relatively quickly and metabolized more slowly.
Moderation is the key. ...Read more

Alcohol: It is difficult to answer your question. Alcohol drinks have different strengths (alcohol content). However, on average, each drink has about 14 grams of alcohol. For men to drink more than 60 grams of alcohol per day is excessive and at risks for many complications, especially liver failure. Suggest 2 glasses of red wine for men. ...Read more

What to do if I have campral to help me get off alcohol but its from 2009, will it still work to take?
Depends: Most medications, if kept in a cool and dry place, may last much longer than the expiration dates that are on the bottle, and in some cases will keep most, if not all of their potency for a decade or more. Other medications, like tetracycline, become toxic over several years. Acamprosate is an Amino Acid derivative, and is probably ok. However,Campral requires a counseling program to work.Get help ...Read more
Ativan is not safe with alcohol, but is it ok to take it the next day after having drinks? Is there a timeline?
Ativan and alcohol: Depends how much you drink and the condition of your liver. Ativan acts by itself (lorazepam half life is 12 hrs), and by a metabolite formed in the liver (lorazepam glucoride-half life is 18 hrs), so, to be safe you have to start drinking very moderately after18 hrs at least from your last dose, and it would be safe (after moderate drinking) to take the ativan 18-24hrs after the last drink. ...Read more
Can you clarify why some people take longer to get alcohol out of system, such as etg test? Why do some people test positive up to 80 hours?
We all have differences from each other due to genetics, including gender and nutrition. The rates at which various chemicals, including alcohol, are metabolized, vary among people and explains how long after the last drink etg may be detectable.
Alcohol is a poison and you should abstain.

When medications say do not take with alcohol does that mean I cant ever drink or does that mean don't take it with alcohol still in your system?
Depends: Most meds labelled like that can actually be taken with alcohol. Manufacturers are known to be overly cautious like that. But there are a few notable exceptions. In the vast majority of cases you can take the warning to mean not with alcohol in your system. Your specific case may be different so best to ask your doc. Of course excessive use of alcohol should be discouraged whether you take any o ...Read more
Couse i`ve been struggling to help,my body becomes itchy everytime when i`m sober but immediately i take alcohol i eventually becomes fine please?
I don't understand: why this would happen, since most people experience the opposite - more histamine release when drinking associated with flushing or itching. However, it is far more important for you to get sober than to worry about itching. I would recommend using an antihistamine for your itching, like benadryl (diphenhydramine) 25 mg four times a day (caution with driving etc. because of potential sedation). Ask your doctor. ...Read more
