Can you take Advil (ibuprofen) and mylanta together?

Can you take Advil (ibuprofen) and mylanta together?

No: It isn't harmful to take them together. It is NOT the case that they'll interact badly and cause side effects. But the Mylanta could interfere with the absorption of the Advil. For you pharmacists in the crowd, the Mylanta may significantly change the area under the plasma concentration-time curve for the ibuprofen. It is best to take your other meds at least a half hour before any antacid.

Can you take Advil (ibuprofen) and prednisone together?

You can, but don't: If you are on prednisone, you shouldn't need the advil (ibuprofen). The anti-inflammatory effects of the predisone are far more powerful than advil (ibuprofen). You also run a higher risk of GI upset. A better strategy is one or the other depending upon what your doctor says.

I'm online now. Type your question here. Can I take advil (ibuprofen) pm and morphine 30er together?

I'm online now. Type your question here. Can I take advil (ibuprofen) pm and morphine 30er together?

GooNightSweetPrince: It's been 23 hours. Still on-line? Time to get some sleep! It would be helpful to know just why you're taking the morphine. In general it's not a good idea to combine medications that have sedative side effects. Advil-PM has small amounts of diphenhydramine (Benadryl)in it so it shouldn't be a problem, depending on how much morphine you take-but-since both are sedating & pain medications, why you asking?
