Have not missed any birth control pills and consistent with the time i take it each day how likely is it to become pregnant as the only contraceptive?

Have not missed any birth control pills and consistent with the time i take it each day how likely is it to become pregnant as the only contraceptive?

Unlikely: If taken properly and reliably birth control is a very effective means of reducing the chance of becoming pregnant (around a 1-3% failure rate). The common reasons for birth control 'failure' is being noncompliant with the medication or taking another medication that interferes with the birth control pill (some antibiotics for example reduce BC effectiveness). ...Read more

OC: Correct! virtually 100% of the time if properly taken at the same time every day. Your body thinks you ovulated since the hormones on the pill are similar hormones to the ones you make but in higher amounts so when you stop them, your body thinks you are not pregnant and bleeds. ...Read more

I have irregular periods, wondering if you still get your period while on the pillwith the white pill does this mean you will be-fertile after the pill?

Period on the pill?: A period occurs while on birth control, during the inactive (placebo) pills, because there are no hormones in inactive pills. Sometimes there's some spotting while on the active pills, but if a woman is taking her pills correctly, she is still presumed protected against pregnancy even with spotting between periods. If she was young and fertile before using pills, she's probably fertile afterward. ...Read more

Pregnancy Test: When you are on sugar pills, most women will get a period. In some women, there is no period. This can happen because they are pregnant as they missed a pill or took it erratically or they have missed a period because some women respond to the BCP in this way. If you was having unprotected sex while on the BC pills and never get a period while on the sugar ones could that mean you pregnant ?

Sure: The pill has about a 3% failure rate so if you skip your period on the pill it would be appropriate to check a pregnancy test. For some women the pill is so effective at decreasing the amount of bleeding that they have very light menses and may occasionally just not see any blood when they do cycle.
