Can You Put Hydrogen Peroxide On A Pimple
I was wondering if I was allergic to hydrogen peroxide because when I used this product on a popped pimple it flared and now that area is swollen?
Not allergic: Hi. No, you're not allergic to hydrogen peroxide. Your neutrophils make it throughout your body, as part of their oxidative burst in fighting bacterial infection. And hydrogen peroxide is a tiny molecule; too small to raise an allergic reaction to. You probably just have local infection/inflammation. Good luck! ...Read more

I'm 38 weeks and noticed my acne getting out of hand and it looked infected so I put a bit of hydrogen peroxide on my face, and noticed white spots?
Acne: The hormones in pregnancy make acne much worse for a lot of women. There are many over the counter acne facial washes and topical medications that may help. Hydrogen peroxide is not one of them that will help. After delivery you should see improvement as the hormones return to normal levels. No: Get something that actually works -- a cheap rx. I start folks on topical clindamycin, with a retinoic acid derivative if there are lots of blackheads, benzoyl peroxide if not. The cost should be almost nothing. More extensive disease is usually manageable by oral antibiotics, and dermatologists have the big guns. This is the 21st century and nobody needs unwanted acne. ...Read more

Worthless: This is one more 'pop' remedy that will disappoint you. Much too weak: Cystic acne seldom responds well to any measure short of isotretinoin, which is not for the faint-hearted. Only a dermatologist can prescribe it. Safe to use hydrogen peroxide on skin for acne (everyday)? I heard it can kill you healthy cells as well due to 'free radical damage'
Get real Rx: Hydrogen peroxide is a poor choice for the reasons that my colleague has given. However topical benzoyl peroxide 5% 2x/day is your best friend for acne. If you are not clear in two weeks, your personal physician can prescribe medicine that will work. Since you're a lady, the oral contraceptive pill may clear you if it is right for you. ...Read more
No.: Witch hazal is fine due to its calming effects on the skin but I do not recommend hydrogen peroxide. It is antibacterial, yes. But it is entirely too harsh for skin and could cause more problems than good. I recommend using a medicated daily cleanser and possibly a leave on product such roc retinol--available in drug stores. If this is not effective, see a dermatologist. ...Read more
No: Topical benzoyl peroxide, which you can get over the counter, is your first try. If insufficient, a woman who can take the oral contraceptive pill may find this clears her. Otherwise, your physician might add topical Clindamycin and if you are not clear in four weeks, a systemic antibiotic that's right for you. All acne can be managed nowadays. Good luck and stay proactive. ...Read more
