Is it ok to take an acetaminophen with an aspirin?

Is it ok to take an acetaminophen with an aspirin?

Depends: If you are taking low dose Aspirin for cardiac health, it is okay to take Acetaminophen for pain relief. If it is just for pain relief, either one alone should be enough. The two are not synergistic.

Difference between aspirin and panadol (acetaminophen)?

Difference between aspirin and panadol (acetaminophen)?

Aspirin: Panadol is tylenol or acetaminophen. It is used for pain and fever only. Aspirin can be used for pain but it has anti-inflmmatory qualities that could help with swelling, pain, and fever.

Go to the ER.: It may well be that you have cleared the medications from your system, but Acetaminophen can cause severe problems - even liver failure! go to the emergency room. They will take blood tests, do an exam, and have a supportive social worker discuss this event with you. Clearly, you must be hurting in some way to have taken such a dangerous overdose. Life can get better, as long as we are breathing.

Get medical help: It will be too risky to chance letting your body clear out the drugs by itself, and the risk is death or lifelong liver damage, to name a few. You have a closing window of time to get medical attention, and what treatment will involve is preventing the damage from occurring. Give this free phone number a call now, and they will guide you: 1-800-222-1222.

Which is safer for the body if used occasionally: tylenol (acetaminophen) or aspirin I've tried both, feel like I've had similar results with both that's why?

Which is safer for the body if used occasionally: tylenol (acetaminophen) or aspirin I've tried both, feel like I've had similar results with both that's why?

Both: Acetominophen (tylenol) intake should be limited to less than 4 grams daily. In excess, liver damage may occur. Aspirin can trigger asthma attacks, GI bleeding, allergic reactions, and intake should be limited to less that 3 grams daily. Occasional use and alternating them may be best.

How long does aspirin and tylenol (acetaminophen) stay in ur system? For example usually it says take every 6 hours so does that mean after that it's gone within?

How long does aspirin and tylenol (acetaminophen) stay in ur system? For example usually it says take every 6 hours so does that mean after that it's gone within?

Depends on dose: A one-time dose is normally gone within that time frame. However, regular use of medications create a "steady state" baseline which takes longer to be metabolized. How long depends on your metabolism. For example, kidney or liver disease cause drugs to not be cleared as effectively, and the medication can build up in your system. Also, effects of Aspirin on platelets can last up to a week.

I took 9 grams of aspirin and 10 grams of tylenol (acetaminophen). Home remedies to survive? I'm 5'1, and about 110-115 pounds. It's been in my system 28-30 hours.

Please go to ER: It sounds like you tried to kill yourself; I am happy to hear you have changed your mind. If you really want to survive & not have permanent kidney & liver damage then please go to the er asap! -this is beyond the scope of home remedies. That Aspirin dose is not lethal but the tylenol (acetaminophen) dose is potentially fatal; dying from acute liver failure is not a good way to go-but it's not too late. I'm allergic to aspirin can I take acetaminophen?

I'm allergic to aspirin can I take acetaminophen?

Yes: There is no chemical relationship or cross allergenicity between Aspirin and acetaminophen/tylenol. With an Aspirin allergy you should avoid taking non steroidal antiinflammatory meds like Ibuprofen as these can cause allergic problems in those allergic to aspirin.

Which is a more effective treatment: acetaminophen or aspirin?

Which is a more effective treatment: acetaminophen or aspirin?

Fever, pain: For both fever and pain, acetaminophen is an effective and a safe treatment. Aspirin is a very effective treatment for both fever and pain, but has a significantly worse side effect profile.

Which is better for sunburn - aspirin or tylenol (acetaminophen)?

Which is better for sunburn - aspirin or tylenol (acetaminophen)?

Ibuprofen: Ibuprofen and other "nsaids" (i.e. Naproxen) have strong anti-inflammatory properties and therefore are likely more effective at treating the pain related to a sunburn.

Is it ok to take tylenol (acetaminophen) and aspirin together for a headache?

Is it ok to take tylenol (acetaminophen) and aspirin together for a headache?

Sure: You can space them out or choose one of the combination products like Excedrin (aspirin, tylenol (acetaminophen) and caffeine). I also agree that Ibuprofen is a better choice than aspirin.
