No fixed advice, but: For an average healthy 22- y-o man, an uneventful hydrocelectomy alone and its incision should heal well and should pose no additional risk to what you may plan to do as described. Nonetheless, without a direct look and awareness about how surgery was done and how your general health composure, it is hard to give 100% guaranty; one has to exercise commonsense for daily living; be conservative!

Could hydrocele be cured without surgery?

Could hydrocele be cured without surgery?

Usually not: Small hydroceles often require no surgery unless they bother the subject. Large hydroceles in very old or infirm subjects can be aspirated coincident with instillation of a sclerosant but usually recur. By ; large all adult hydroceles which need to be "fixed" require surgery for correction. Operation is reactively minor.

What will the doctors do during surgery to fix my hydrocele?

What will the doctors do during surgery to fix my hydrocele?

See below: During repair of a hydrocele, the scotum is incised and the hydrocele sac incised. All the hydrocele fluid is evacuated. The sac is then turned inside out and sutured to itself behind the cord structures so that fluid does not reacuumulate. The incision is then closed in multiple layers with absorbable suture material. There are variants of this procedure as well.

Why is my testicle still hard after hydrocele surgery is the ok?

Why is my testicle still hard after hydrocele surgery is the ok?

Very common: It can take several months for the testicle and its surrounding tissues to soften up after hydrocele repair. There are a number of reasons including edema (swelling) in the surgical area, thickness of the tunica vaginalis that was partially removed; some reabsorbing blood, size of the hydrocele, was the spermatic cord involved, etc. Give it time.

In how many days I can go to work after hydrocele surgery. Since I am site engineer ishould walk n stand on site??

Here ares some. ..: The degree of post-hydrocelectomy tissue swelling highly varies depending on magnitude of dissection and skill of surgeon. If the surgery is uneventful, i.e., no undue swelling or no infection as usually expected, such a man should be able to move around well in 2 weeks. More detail? Ask surgeon timely.

Have small hydrocele. Rarely painful. Urologist doesn't reccmd surgery. What to do if I feel pain? Is ice okay to apply for pain?

Have small hydrocele. Rarely painful. Urologist doesn't reccmd surgery. What to do if I feel pain? Is ice okay to apply for pain?

Depends pain level: Advice against surgery good provided same side testis is either palpable or scrotal ultrasound & normal. Needs 2B seen by Dr. For an episode if pain severe to rule out testis torsion. Intermittent torsion is associated with severe pain, relieved when it untwists & should be fixed surgically. Minor pain could be due to bleed into a tumor. Otherwise ice OK, but small hydrocele shouldn't cause pain

I am experiencing pain in my left testicle 8 months post hydrocele correction surgery, only at he back of testicle, what should I do?

Testicle Pain: Follow up with your surgeon. This may be a post op complication or could be an infection not related to the surgery. Either way it needs professional evaluation. Good luck, don't delay.

I have a mild right sided hydrocele and a moderate left sided varicocele. I don't have insurance. What would surgery cost me roughly? Thanks.

BARGAIN: These are relatively simple procedures and could be done (most of the time) via ENDOSCOPY!! Also suggest you have BOTH SIDES DONE thus have only ONE Charge for OR/ANESTHESIA etc etc Hope this is helpful Dr Z

Had hydrocele surgery June 1. More comfortable than prior to surgery but testicle still a little more 2x than other one. Does not illuminate?

Normal finding: Part of hydrocele always remains after hydrocele surgery. Fluid is drained & hydrocele sac is inverted & sewn together behind testis (Bottle procedure); some surgeons roll up hydrocele sac (Lord procedure). In both cases testicle will remain larger than other side & may slowly diminish in size with time. This explains why your post surgery testis does not trans-illuminate. Don't be concerned.

About one year ago I got varicocele problem I did surgery with this surgery I got hydrocele. About six month ago I did surgery but problem remain.

Bottle: Varicocele surgery. Hydrocele occured, surgery 6 mos. Ago for the hydrocele, hydrocele recurred: I would need to see the operative report of the hydrocele surgery but if an operation referred to as the Bottle operation is done, the hydrocele should not recur. Best of luck.

Hydroceles: A Hydroceles is a collection of fluid surrounding the testicle and is the most common cause of scrotal enlargement. Caused by trauma or infection/inflammation, as the primary process resolves the swelling may go down. Hydroceles can vary in size over time. Surgery is indicated only when they are painful or bothersome.
