Slowly and carefully: You just need to start slowly and build up on a constant but persistent basis. Also, keep a careful inventory of what you eat. There are good apps that can track your daily calories and this can be very helpful. There are also medicines that can help. Yes. You can.: If you are underweight or with bmi less than 18, the first question will be if you eat enough food more than you body uses. Assuming you do but still can not gain weight, consideration should be giving to hypercatabolic states like hyperthyroidism and chronic infections.
