Severe acne scars on forehead, and the sides of the face. Besides dermabrasion & other skin resurfacing treatments how can I achieve clear skin again?
Don't give up!: Deep acne scars are a tough problem. Laser resurfacing, in my opinion, is the best way to improve the appearance. It is rarely a one time treatment, however. We use active fx and deep fx and repeat the treatment a few times (we wait a few months between treatments to evaluate the effect) for maximal benefit. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers

I have atrophic scars on the glans penis, like acne boxcar scars, shallow/flat. Can i get them laser resurfaced like treatment for papules? Options?
Scars of the glans: Hello, from your question i did not get the sense that you had pain from the scars. I recommend against any further ablative treatments to the skin of the penis. This is a very sensitive part of your body and any ablative therapies such as laser resurfacing or more caustic treatments could reduce sensibility to this organ. Good luck. Accutane: Absolutely not. Isotretinon prevents new skin growth. Any type of LASER treatment will likely burn your skin and cause long-term scarring. It is not advised to have any type of ablative or exfoliative treatment for up to 2 years after Isotretinon treatment has ended. This is a very serious chemotherapeutic drug and that is why it comes with a 17 page consent form and requires close follow-up. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

It is unlikely to hurt anything other than your wallet. :) Depending on the size of the affected area you maybe be able to excise the bad areas, but that will leave a scar as well, just likely flat and thin. ...Read more
I have these flat/roundacne scars left from cystic acne. Will light chemical peels be able to clear them?
Acne scars deeper: Hello, I empathize with you regarding the scarring from cystic acne. Acne scars are among the most challenging conditions we see as dermatologists. The newer fractionated lasers can be quite successful, along with fillers such as Juvederm. Go slowly. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
