Two weeks ago i got a anoplasty surgery and i'm feeling better but what things can I and can't i do?
Go to the source: You should call your surgeon's office in the morning and ask for clarification of your expectations. It's really not appropriate for me to offer my opinion in your acute post op period. Your own surgeon is your primary resource. So, make the call. Good luck. ...Read more
What do you advise if I'm having surgery number two for a j-pouch, is there anything I should do to prepare?
Discuss with your surgeon: This is a complex discussion that should be done with your surgeon and your primary care doctor prior to any surgery. It is far too difficult to cover this topic in this short space. Wish you well. ...Read more
What do you suggest if i'm having surgery number two for a j-pouch, is there anything I should do to prepare?
Scared for my surgery to have my IUD removed in two weeks. It is stuck, not lost. How did this happen? What is it stuck on? Very nervous.
Hysteroscopy: It's most likely that your iud just got inserted a little too far or at an angle, causing the arms to get lodged into the uterine wall, as opposed to just resting gently in the uterine cavity. The removal surgery is usually fairly benign. Usually a hysterosocpy where they use a camera to find its exact location in the uterus and pull it out with gentle traction. Sometimes this isn't even necessary. ...Read more
Depends: Depends completely upon the type of surgery anticipated. Understand, your terminology may be different than your surgeon's. Disc bulge, is not, in and of itself, an indication for surgery. A disc herniation with sciatica is—2-3 months before back to normal. Disk problem requiring fusion—3-6 months before back to normal. Plan on upper end of estimate for 2 levels. ...Read more
I have had lapland surgery a little over two years ago. Should i still be taking a children's vitamin every day?
Surgery & Vitamins: I don't think there is something called lapland surgery. Check with your doctor for the correct name of the surgery you had then try submitting your question again. Most people do not have enough variety in their diets to get all the vitamins they need for optimal health. An adult vitamin with minerals, vitamin d 2000 iu and omega 3 caps is a good basic start on supplements. ...Read more

Surgery two weeks ago. Dr said to expect some puss which is normal. I have some puss around my stitches. How should I clean it? If I should?
Clean cloth: Clean it with a clean cloth. It's probably ok if it is moist, but not too wet. Ordinarily, it is not normal to have pus coming from a surgical incision, unless there is an infection. Please have your surgeon evaluate the wound asap to assess whether or not this is ok for you. Hope this helps! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I had a chalazion surgery about two months ago however the chalazion is still there. I've tried warn compresses repeatedly and nothing seems to work.
Recheck with eyedoc: Some chalazia are multi loculated so that your ophthalmologist may have cleaned out the larger one but simply missed the smaller one. A few will reseal and collect the debris and form another chalazion. Since these are benign, you can have another removal or simply ignore a small residual chalazion if that is all that is left. If in doubt , check with your ophthalmologist. ...Read more
I took six cold FX tablets - the last of the two yesterday morning (contains ginseng). I'm having surgery on Wednesday... Will my surgery be delayed?
I doubt it: Ginseng can have an effect on bleeding/clotting time, but the effects are more pronounced if you are also taking aspirin/other blood thinners. While most would recommend avoiding ginseng for 7 days before surgery, 72 hours should be fine. Be sure to tell your surgical team about it, but I don't think your surgery will be delayed. Be sure to avoid the aspirin related products. Best wishes:) ...Read more
