Can I still get tonsillitis without tonsils . I got my tonsils out when I was 7 and since than my sore throats are worse or they feel like that?

Tonsillitis: The need for tonsillectomy is dependent upon the frequency and severity of tonsillar infections and this can be best assessed by an ENT doctor examining you. A single episode of tonsillitis virtually never requires removal of the tonsils. ...Read more

See an ENT: Having three episodes of tonsillitis a year for several years in a row meets criteria for tonsillectomy. I would suggest you set up an ENT appointment to discuss surgery. Keep in mind that all of the risks as well as benefits need to be entertained prior to surgery. ...Read more
