What do you recommend if I had DVT in my right leg had it dissolved with a direct injection to the location of the DVT still feel pain will it go away ?

What do you recommend if I had DVT in my right leg had it dissolved with a direct injection to the location of the DVT still feel pain will it go away ?

DVT lysis: I am going to assume you are describing catheter directed thrombolysis. Leg pain and swelling can persist for some time but should improve. I would need to know more but a follow up ultrasound is standard to ascertain that the clot is stable or improving. Are you being anti coagulated? Are you wearing compression? You should certainly follow up with the provider who performed your thrombolysis. ...Read more

I've had post DVT 8 yrs ago now pregnant, should I terminate pregnancy? Am i at high risk to get DVT again even on clexane injections

Sort of: We would not suggest termination for a past history of dvt. We would (usually) suggest prophylactic clexane injections (40 mg a day at least) and maybe therapeutic if needed. You are at increased risk for a DVT while pregnant. That is different from a high risk - which would depend on the other risk factors you have for dvt. See your doc to get evaluated for your risk specifically. ...Read more

After 3rd blood clot in lower left calf (dvt) resolved, my INR is still low after over 2 mos on enoxaparin injections twice daily- why?

After 3rd blood clot in lower left calf (dvt) resolved, my INR is still low after over 2 mos on enoxaparin injections twice daily- why?

Enoxaparin: Why do you check inr when you are on enoxaparin? Inr is not something to see or check when you are on enoxaparin. That level has nothing to do with enoxaparin. If you are also on warfarin/coumadin along with enoxaparin and your inr is still low now for 2 months- then you have to discuss with your doctor- perhaps the dose of Coumadin has to be increased and you should be more careful with diet etc. ...Read more

So, an inferior vena cava filter is umbrella'ed in to catch any thrombus heading north to the lungs.
