Can You Have Dental Surgery After Steroid Injection For Sinus
Can a patient receive sinus surgery if they have been crying, and are congested as a result, prior to surgery?
Sinus surgery/crying: Crying can cause temporary swelling in the sinus passages but should not be a contraindication to the procedure as your surgeon can prescribe a nasal spray to reverse the swelling for surgery. Also, be sure if you are crying that you are emotionally ready for the surgery as you need to be in a positive frame of mind to be able to recover optimally from the surgery. Hope this helps. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Chronic sinusitis after surgery. Could an antibiotic be used to cure/help with the sinusitis that popped up on MRI even after surgery?
Not necessarily: Some cavities are quite near the surface of the tooth. They can be filled without needing any numbing medication. Deeper cavities which are nearer to the root of the tooth may require local anesthesia to be filled comfortably. Your dentist will advise you as to the best way to have dental work done safely and comfortably. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Can the oral surgeon tell if I have dry socket without opening the stitches? Have migraines 4 days later. Don't have $ for more sedation.
Dry socket?: Yes a surgeon can tell a dry socket without removing sutures but migraines are not really associated with dry socket. I would return to your oral surgeon to have the extraction sites checked. There probably will be no charge for the visit as a post-op followup. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

So if you have two options for appendicitis, either antibiotics or surgery and you choose antibiotics can you request surgery a few days later?
More risky: Surgey up front is a very safe and effective option for treating appendicitis. Antibiotics can work, but then the question will always remain, when is it going to come back? The longer you wait for surgery in the acute setting, the more risky it becomes. After a few days, best to stay on antibiotics, and consider surgery after at least 6-8 weeks. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

How long should I wait before having surgery for iliopsoas snapping? I've tried pt, nsaids and cortisone shots(12 of them).
Tends to improve: Hard to answer that question but in my experience snapping hip syndrome tends to improve w/ time. Occassionally 'snapping hip' is misdiagnosed or in conjunction w/ another hip abnormality( labral tear). If u can tolerate the discomfort w/ nsaids i would wait on having the surgery as it causes no long term problems and generally improves as u get older... Plus surgery is not 100% or benign. ...Read more
Is RACZ catheter an option when numerous times of epidural steroid injection fails to relieve the pain? Then how many injections before considering RACZ?
For Scarring: Racz catheter is used on a procedure called epidural lysis of adhesions which is codespeak for scar tissue, assuming you've had back surgery. Generally it is used to deliver an anesthetic/enzyme mixture to break up that scar tissue but is also used for mechanical compression to breakup the tissue as well. Generally your pain/spine doctor should discuss when this is a good option for you. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
