Not usually: Implantation pain is quite variable, such that most women cannot feel it at all. The first thought then is that perhaps the discomfort you felt was due to another problem. What do you advise if I had cramping all day yesterday and a little bit this morning could that be implantation cramping?

Difficult to confirm: In the second half of the cycle...the corpus luteum (the post ovulation cyst that makes hormones) may be tender, its demise may be tender and cause cramping and of course if one conceives the ovary may be tender. As the uterus grows and changes women may feel changes. Cramping may also be from the intestines. In summary cramping may Have many etiologies so it is hard to know.

I have been having cramps mainly on my right side, sometimes on both sides. I am 7 dpo. Could these be implantation cramps?

May be: Conception, as defined by the generation of a fertilized ovum, occurs within day or so of the sex. However, it takes about two weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG to produce a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.
