My obgyn said that my cervix is closed. I am trying to get pregnant. Should I let him open it? I'm 36.
Need more info: If you have gotten pregnant in the past, I do not see any reason why your cervix should be closed now. Maybe you need to clarify the issue with your doctor. Good Luck. ...Read more

The cervix does not have to be "visibly open" to get pregnant. Good luck. ...Read more

See your OB/GYN: First, it would be highly unlikely for your cervix to be "open" without being pregnant. Your gynecologist should be able to assess your cervix by physical examination and direct visualization. If your doctor thinks it is necessary, an ultrasound examination can also assess your uterus, cervix and ovaries. ...Read more

Sex position: There was a time in gynecologic history where we would do surgery to bring the uterus and cervix in an up-right position thinking that would make the woman conceive more readily in a missionary position.
