If I'm 7 weeks pregnant and I believe my last period was on January 20 but it was kinda messed up from takin flagyl when did I get pregnant?
Guessing games: If your pregnancy was confirmed by ultrasound as 7 weeks then the LMP is consistent. I have an appt. Tomorrow, can't get rid of bv, Flagyl no longer works. What other meds can I ask the doc about. Pregnancy safe meds at 10wks?
Clindamycin: Clindamycin is the other, less common option for bv.
My endo biopsy results came + for plasma cells&polyps. Have been askd to take levaquin&flagyl 10days. Is it possible to get pregnant after the meds? Iui/ivf?
Polyps: This means signs of chronic endometritis, however the polyps may need to be removed prior to attempting any treatment since they may interfere with implantation particularly if they are large.
Depends on trimester: Flagyl should not be used as single dose for bacterial vaginosis or during first trimester for treating trichomoniasis. Black box warning advises of its carcinogenicity in mice & rats; so caution is advised. Discuss with OB for alternatives.
I was given Flagyl 500mg twice since being pregnant. Now people are saying it isn't safe. I'm almost 12 weeks so what's gonna happen to my baby?
I'm on combined pill but started taking 400mg of Flagyl day and night for 7days on Tuesday. I had unprotected sex on Wednesday night. Pregnancy likely?
Not likely: Antibiotics can sometime limit effectiveness of oral contraceptives. Since the time frame is short, not likely you would become pregnant. Back up birth control would be warranted this cycle.
Got paragard out. Started combination bc 1wk ago. Just finished 1 wk flagyl. Will I be protected against pregnancy in 2 wks?
Not fully protected: Full protection from getting pregnant after starting to take birth control pills is typically not achieved during the first but during the second cycle. A backup method during the first cycle is recommended.
FDA pregnancy: Category b: use of (flagyl) Metronidazole for trichomoniasis is contraindicated during the first trimester; the manufacturer makes no further recommendations regarding use during pregnancy. Best to consult your obstetrician regarding any risk. Best regards for a for a good pregnancy and a healthy baby.
