Ablation at 22?: Typically an endometrial ablation is only done on women who have completed childbearing. It is quite unusual for a 22 year old to have had this done. It is considered unsafe to get pregnant after an ablation. It is also not normal to start bleeding for this length of time a year after an ablation. Need birth control: Contraception is required after an endometrial ablation. I will not do an ablation unless the patient or her psrtner has permanent birth control. Please see your doctor and discuss this important issue. Use condoms until you can be seen. Ablations are great procedures but do not prevent pregnancy.
