Mouth hives: It is possible for an allergic response to manifest itself as hives in your mouth or throat. Why do I often get hives around my mouth?

Why do I often get hives around my mouth?

Oral allergy synd?: Pay attention to what you put in your mouth. Some people allergic to pollen may react to fruits which cross react with the pollen (birch-apple, ragweed- melons etc). The reaction usually occurs in minutes or a couple of hours. If the welts last more than 24 hrs, then one needs to consider a contact allergy as well.

Why do I get an itchy bumpy rash and around the borders of my lips sometimes? I also get lots of hives around my mouth as well.

Why do I get an itchy bumpy rash and around the borders of my lips sometimes? I also get lots of hives around my mouth as well.

Oral preparation: This suggests that you may be allergic to something you use in or around your mouth. Perhaps changing toothpaste or mouthwash may help. On the other hand, the episodic nature points to exposure to a certain allergen especially certain fruits (apple, banana, avocado etc). If the problem persists, consider an allergy consult.

For a week and a half I started to get a lip numb and not always same spot, accompanied by itchy hives and welts sometimes have heart palputations?

Hives: 49 M from MD notes 1.5 wk lip numb different spots with hives and welt sometimes with palpitations.? ANS: Not certain what the question is but sounds like you are having an allergic reaction to something. If you are taking a BP med that is an ACE inhibitor this would be my first suspect. New pet, new job? Seeing a Dr. In AM would be good. Unless you know what is causing it.

I have MRSA hives on arms and legs, back and now a ulcerated one on my vagina lip how likely is it that ill get sepsis?

I have MRSA hives on arms and legs, back and now a ulcerated one on my vagina lip how likely is it that ill get sepsis?

MRSA treatment: Sepsis can occur but is less likely to happen if you get treated. Mrsa infections are usually treated with antibiotics. People with recurrent infections sometimes need decolonization. Chlorhexidine is a soap that can be used to decrease the load of MRSA on the skin and decrease risk of infections and sepsis. You should ask your doctor if this would be a good option for you.

My fiancée woke up this morning with rashes above his torso part of the body and bumps (hives?) along with bumps on his mouth and gums, what is it?

Urticaria: Hives on trunk along with mouth and gums is an immune or allergic reaction to an antigen. An allergic reaction could be to foods, food additives and flavoring agents, medications including herbal agents and chemicals. Immune reactions are more common, most common being to viral infections. Over the counter antihistamines such as Claritin or Benadryl (diphenhydramine) have helped many patients. Consult your doctor.

9 month old got hives around mouth after eating lentil beans. They went away after we wiped his face off. What else is in same food family to avoid?

Lentils are in the: Legume family, which includes chick-peas, peas, peanuts, beans, & soy. Lentil allergy is #4 among spanish children & #5 among those from india. Peanut allergy more common in the us. Several sites noted that lentils must be boiled at least 15 minutes to destroy harmful toxins in their skins. Others noted white beans, green beans, & soy generally well tolerated by those allergic to other legumes.

Hi I've just had an allergy reaction to a sushi roll. Hives around mouth, a bit wheezy and hoarse. History of allergies. Will the gym make it worse?

Hi I've just had an allergy reaction to a sushi roll. Hives around mouth, a bit wheezy and hoarse. History of allergies. Will the gym make it worse?

Depends: Do you have a known allergy to fish or shellfish? Do you have a history of exercise induced anaphylaxis? How long ago was your reaction? If you are experiencing wheezing, probably not a good idea to go to the gym as exercise can induce asthma symptoms. See an allergist for further evaluation of seafood allergy/ anaphylaxis.

can a child be allergic to petroleum in Vaseline or chapstick because my son broke out in hives and had swelling around his mouth eyes and other area?

can a child be allergic to petroleum in Vaseline or chapstick because my son broke out in hives and had swelling around his mouth eyes and other area?

Couple things: It's very unusual to be allergic to petrolatum jelly, though it is occlusive and cause itching. Many people are allergic to lip balms of all kinds. But that causes allergic contact dermatitis; e.g. swelling, redness, then peeling over days...usually not "hives", meaning urticaria, that comes and goes over hours. And not in areas not applied (like the eyelids).

Just got a palate expander and braces at time 2days ago my tongue began to burn and my mouth taste like metal fever and hives am allergic?

Just got a palate expander and braces at time 2days ago my tongue began to burn and my mouth taste like metal fever and hives am allergic?

Allergic reactions: If you have a palatal expander that has a plastic component and is not all metal you may be having a reaction to the plastic. If your expander is fixed and was cemented in it could also be the type of cement used although this is less likely. I would contact your Dentist ASAP and have him or her evaluate the situation.

See endocrinologist: 4 conditions come to mind: a. drinking too much water from an obsessive urge leading to water intoxication. b. Diabetes insipidus -the pituitary no longer secretes the hormone (ADH) to control the urinary flow. (c)Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus. (d)If you are taking a lot of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for the hives it would lead to dryness in the mouth->thirst. All of the above require a visit to the doctor.

Can echinacea cause fever, sore throat, sores/ hives on mouth. Finger, foot, and genitalia?

Can echinacea cause fever, sore throat, sores/ hives on mouth. Finger, foot, and genitalia?

Not likely: But this plant is related to ragweed and may cause allergic reactions of various sorts. You probably have something else and need a DR. Echinacea is useless even when honestly dispensed. When commercial preparations are analyzed, they usually contain something other than labeled. Don't believe the rediculous claims by unscrupulous, ignorant people selling this to suckers.
