Low TSH: The TSH is low. That would imply that your FT4 is high (needs to be measured), which would imply that your levothyroxine dose is too high, or your thyroid is producing some hormone on top of what you are taking in the pill. You and your doctor (perhaps with help of an Endocrinologist) need to figure this out. Long term, it is not healthy to be this way. Bone loss, stress on the heart. ...Read more

Keflex: Are you allergic to penicillin? There is a % of people that may be allergic to both.Could be gerd related. I would not take any chances, call your doctor immediately and let him know what happened. He may send you to an allergist and/ or switch your medication. He may also do nothing, best to call him to be sure. ...Read more

Had allergic reaction to Minocycline. Hives, heartburn, chills, feeling ill. Took prednisone/benadryl. Hives gone for 4 days, why am I still itchy?

Inflammation: !st drug such as minocycline tends to linger on in the tissue longer. 2nd the inflammation triggered by the drug takes 1-2 weeks to resolve even after the drug has been discontinued. Think of it as a deep scratch on your skin, it won't heal immediately just because you have stopped scratching it. ...Read more

What to do if I have been diagnosed with gerd.why don't I get heartburn?

I have been diagnosed GERD & I get heartburns almost once a week. I usually take a Pantoprezole tablet then - is it safe to take it so often?

Talk to doc but: First you need to take the Pantoprazole 30-60 mins before your first meal of the day. There is also concern that chronic use of this type of drug increases the risk in getting pneumonia and possibly traveler's diarrhea. If taken only when heartburn starts, then a Histamine 2 reverse agonist (Pepcid, Zantac) may be more appropriate. ...Read more

Small hiatus hernia. No GERD, heartburn. What are the chances of this gettin bigger with time and give me symptoms ? Anything to do to prevent HH? Ty

May not be a problem: Many people have hiatal hernias without ever having problems. Anything that increases your intraabdominal pressure a lot, such as doing strenuous activity or coughing a lot, or obesity, can cause the hernia to get bigger. Decreasing those activities will reduce your risk of symptoms. Once you have the hernia, you can't prevent it. It won't resolve on its own. ...Read more

Gave up diet soda and have IBS and Gerd. Am
On 60 mg dexilant (dexlansoprazole) . Can I get heartburn from drinking iced tea? And I take my pill at night .

GERD : Good for you for giving up diet sodas! It is possible to have worse reflux from iced tea, but it is usually from the caffeine in the tea. If you're drinking caffeine free tea, it usually does not make GERD worse. As for the DexIlant, (dexlansoprazole) is best to take it 20 to 30 minutes before a meal. I would not recommend taking it at bedtime. Good luck. ...Read more
