Of course: By adult age, most people have the common oral herpes virus. The luckier ones don't get outbreaks on their lips, or only rarely get them. Kissing is a common way that herpes is transmitted orally (but a person will not catch the same herpes type 1, if she already caught it earlier in her life... however, she may get outbreaks from time to time)
My friend has (mouth) herpes but still lets people eat/drink after her. How can I get her to protect others?
Be aware: We do not need to be "germaphobes" but we can be kind to those around us. If your physician has diagnosed an infection in you of any kind, inquire how it is transmitted and how to prevent same. Truth be told some "terrible" bugs are real wimps in the real world. The common cold can stay on door knobs. Sexually transmitted diseases are only spread with close contact in a narrow temp & moisture...See 1 more doctor answer
If I kissed someone that had herpes can I get it too? They told me their herpes isn't in there mouth but I donno much about herpes
It: It is unlikely unless you kissed an area of active herpes lesions. If you develop sores then you can be tested.
Yes: The virus can lie dormant until it expresses again.
Can you get infected with your own herpes by touching your earphones and then ur earphones touch your mouth?
Depends on immunity: A person who has herpes on one body part should have immunity if he is not having his very first skin lesions. That means he should not be able to spread his own genital or oral herpes to other sites on his body. Suppose however, that he is playing with a woman's genitals, and she has the other strain of herpes that he doesn't yet have... is that case, he can spread HER herpes onto HIS body parts.
Herpes 1 IgG positive. Have no symptoms at mouth. Herpes II IgG indeterminate. What does this mean. How did I get herpes 1?
Herpes simplex: This virus is present in up to 90% of humans and is transmitted from one person to the next by direct contact.
I have a flatmate with herpes in her mouth and we share same bathroom and kitchen. Is there a chance that I can get herpes too by sharing same bathroom and kitchen? Thanks
Low risk/com sense: By the 20s most of us have actually contracted HSV1 (felt often spread as child) w the WHO in 2015 showing 2/3 of pop 15 - 40 infected, w most asymptomatic carriers. Risk of spread greatest when there is a visible lesion or just before. During that time also found in saliva. While sore avoid contact w sore/saliva, common sense like don't share utensils, etc. When no sore risk of spread near none.See 2 more doctor answers
Yes: Several possible ways- (1) communal use of a meth pipe (2) reactivation of herpes infection in a pt who was previously infected (3) intimate mouth-to-mouth or genital contact with an infected partner, either who may not exercise appropriate judgement if they were high. (4) communal use of a needle if injecting meth and they " lick" the needle.
No: Not unless they touched the chapstick to their genitals while shedding virus.
No: Herpes flares up in the eyes because it is already in that persons body. You can only catch herpes type I from someone else if you are immunosuppressed. Type II herpes is transmissible but requires direct fluid contact and this is unlikely in an ordinary breath. Also there are many reasons for sores in the mouth and your friend might have one of the other causes.
Depends on cause: Aphthous stomatitis involving the common canker sore can occur in up to 15% of americans, and may involve some bacteria like staph epidermidis. However, similar-appearing aphthous ulcers can be seen with herpes, crohn's disease, and other systemic disorders, if you have multiple aphthous ulcers or frequently recurring ones please have the lesions checked out.
Is it possible to get herpes on the anus but not the mouth after oral and anal sex with the same person?
See your doctor: Contrary to your assertion, pain in the back is not a symptom of oral herpetic infection. My advice would be to visit your medical doctor for diagnostic assessment. Although back pain is sometimes due to muscle spasm, it can also be a result of other disorders, some of them serious, including referred pain from digestive tract or kidney disease.See 1 more doctor answer
