Not been proven: Herpes is a virus infection, so can be transmitted by contact with another person who has a herpes infection or who carries the virus. Herpes simplex 1 and 2 are the common oral and/or genital herpes infections that people call "herpes". (herpes zoster is shingles, caused by the same virus that causes chicken pox.) contradicting information for lysine and arginine is all over the internet. ...Read more

Would herpes scatter on my face like acne or would it be condensed to one side? I am having a breakout on my forehead, cheeks, chin, and beside my lips. Im concerned it may not be acne.

Would herpes scatter on my face like acne or would it be condensed to one side? I am having a breakout on my forehead, cheeks, chin, and beside my lips. Im concerned it may not be acne.

Just one side ??: Blister like lesions affecting only one side of your face could be a herpes virus, the zoster virus, but it would tend to be only in one of those areas at a time. H.Simplex, the cold sore virus, can be small blisters in a cluster anywhere on your face but still tends to localize to one area.If you have eczema, some of these viruses can spread to more than one area at a time.It may be worth a visit. ...Read more

A breastfeeding mother has herpes on forehead, scalp and looks like her lips are swollen..what to take?

A breastfeeding mother has herpes on forehead, scalp and looks like her lips are swollen..what to take?

Glad you asked but..: It's important for this mother to see a doctor, first, to confirm the diagnosis, and, second, to get the right treatment. Oral antivirals like acyclovir & valacyclovir are modestly helpful in treating Herpes Simplex Virus. Meanwhile, the mother must be very careful not to let her baby contact her skin rash. Hand washing before caring for the baby is also important. ...Read more
