No : Herpes 1 and 2 are both lifelong infections. The acute antibodies will return to normal but there are other antibodies that will always be elevated. The virus remains in your system. For some people the initial outbreak is only infection but others can have recurrent outbreaks. This is true of oral and genital lesions. Herpes: It could be challenging and confusing to diagnose. Incubation could be 2-12 day after exposure. You may have painfulf burning blister, burning with urination or no symptoms. May be shedding (passing virus) with no symptoms. Blood test could be negative so repeat it in 6-12 weeks.
