I feel nauseated and full all the time. Feels like there's a burp or fart that can't go out. Abdominal ultrsnd & xrayalways clear. What this could be?
Aerophagia: The two most common problems are air swallowing and bacterial overgrowth in the colon. For the first problem, otc medicines like simethicone, beano, and activated charcoal can help. Peptobismol can decrease odor from gas. For the second, an otc probiotic may help. It is also important to note if any particular food makes it worse--common with lactose intolerance. ...Read more

Since birth my 6 month old doesn't burp much when she is nursed, but she will fart a lot. Does farting get gas and air bubbles out the same way?

Wake up with small burps & during the day even on empty stomach. Flatulence before & after eating. I can hear my stomach growling at times. Concern?
Why do I keep having right side pains in my stomache, with severe gas piains and I feel bloated all the time and I feel the urge to wanna burp.
GB disease?: Very simply, you're complaining of right sided abd pain, bloating and increasing belching. This complex could possibly be signs of gallbladder disease. Usually this would be worse after fatty foods, and nausea/vomiting could also be associated. I suggest you try a low fat diet, good hydration, and seek a medical opinion. Good luck. ...Read more

Hello, I have been burping and having gas lately all the time and my stomach has been feeling funny. Can you tell me what I need to do?
Talk to your doctor: It sounds like this could be acid reflux. That can easily be treated with medicines. Talk to your doctor and get his/her recommendations. Be sure to follow up to let the doctor know if the problems get better or not with the treatment. Medicines like prilosec, Prevacid and Nexium (esomeprazole) work much better if they are taken 20-30 minutes before you eat, not with a meal or on an empty stomach. ...Read more
I have a constant pain in my left side. It hurts deep through my back. Its worse if I burp or breath in I thought maybe it was gas or a bowl mivement but its been in the same area for 3 days. It does feel a little better if I don't move around or walk to m
Pain in this area is very tricky since there are many organ systems involving the left abdomen/side.
- stomach - problems such as gastroesophageal reflux, gastritis, and stomach ulcers can cause pain in these areas - usually worse with eating and worse while laying down
- pancreas - pancreatitis, pancreatic stones/blockages can cause epigastric pain, sometimes radiating to the back
- intestinal - duodenal ulcers, infections and constipation can cause pain there because the colon loops up into that area
- kidney - kidney stones or infections can cause pain in the left upper quadrant, though many people feel it in their backs.
- gyne - ovarian pain from a cyst or even an infection from a sexually transmitted disease can cause pain in the left upper quadrant.
And all those are just a few of the things that could be going on. So, your best option is to be seen by a doctor and examined to determine the cause of your pain.
Reasons to go to the er are:
- high fever
- bloody stool
- bright green or bloody vomit
- severe or worsening pain
- difficulty breathing. ...Read more

3-4 times in the past 1-2 months, I woke up with intense pain in my chest, back, and jaw. Accompanied by burping- is it just gas? Why's it hurt so much?
Reflux: What may be happening is reflux of stomach acid up your esophagus. This is commonly called GERD. It may be caused by your diet or eating a large meal and then lying down. Nausea, increase in passing gas and occasional burping. Feeling hot at times. No fever. Started 2 days ago after eating potato soup.
No more potato soup!: Air in the digestive tract may come from a variety of sources--maldigestion due to enzyme deficiency (ex. Lactose intolerance) or food intolerance (ex. Gluten sensitivity), fermentation by gut bacteria (as with bacterial overgrowth syndrome or changed flora after antibiotics), altered GI tract motility, excessive air swallowing, as well as inflammatory and infectious causes. Easy to test 4 these. ...Read more

My mother a diabetic on heavy medication. She's taking vitagliptin, metformin, voglibose, . She has serious bloating and gas issues. All the time burping?
Side effects to meds: Both metformin and voglibose have gastrointestinal side effects. Metformin typically causes diarrhea, but can also cause abdominal bloating and discomfort. I have had very bad gas, burping all the time since having my upper endoscopy. Tightness in my chest, gurgling in stomach & belching. Is this normal?
Maybe just GERD, or: Aerophagia (swallowed air) distends stomach & may result in burping. Also, gassiness/ stomach distension after meals can reflect: 1) partial gastric outlet obstruction due to gastritis/ulcer; 2) pyloric narrowing from scar;3) gastroparesis due to delayed stomach emptying (as w/diabetic gut neuropathy); 4) bacterial overgrowth in gut; 5) any malabsorption; 6) pancreatic maldigestion; 7) ibs; 8) more ...Read more
My TSH level cum 6 n hb 11 n vit d 16.Can I start taking vit d n hb supplements as most of the time I feel burning in my food canal, burping n gas. Sug?
Not clear: Your question is not clear. If you have a TSH level of 6, that would be high and could indicate a low thyroid level. You should have a repeat TSH and free T4 level done. The vitamin d level of 16 would also be low and indicates that you should take vit d supplements. This should not cause burning in your swallowing tube or gas. You may need other testing for this, possibly for gallbladder problem. ...Read more

I have long time post prandial reflux whre food/liquid comes up w/ burp. GP Rx PPi's. Its helping mostly but mild nausea/wet burp, gas is still thre. No vomiting, mild pinching pain in gastric area sometime. Blood HB/Panc profile ok. Is it Gastric CA?
Very unlikely: It sounds like you are on the right track. The PPIs have helped, but you still have some residual reflux symptoms. This is common and may be improved by diet or other lifestyle approaches (elevate head of bed, etc). However, with persistent symptoms you should have an upper endoscopy (EGD) to assess the esophagus and stomach on treatment, and this procedure would also screen for gastric cancer. ...Read more
Not a problem:
As far as burping goes you burp when a volume of air is swallowed and internal pressure builds forcing the air or other gas out of your upper GI system.
Flatulence on the other hand occurs several times a day in all of us. This is normal ad occurs due to methane buildup from normal digestion. Occasionally we have a large quantity and the "fart" happens. Most often its smaller amounts silent gas ...Read more
