Possible: After Mirena (levonorgestrel) removal it may take up to 3 months for the cycle to get regular again. When you have the mirena (levonorgestrel) removed after having it for almost almost 2 yrs. How soon do you start ur period again? And how quickly can you get pregnant?

Right Away: No periods when the Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud was in place? Once removed, periods can resume within a 4 week cycle. Likewise, there is no lingering hormonal effect on fertility once iud taken out. 8/10 women who have Mirena (levonorgestrel) removed are pregnant within a year. Maybe -: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection. ...Read more

Had mirena (levonorgestrel) removed 31 days ago. I had periods the whole time I had it. I have not had my period yet and had neg pregnant tests. When will my period come?

Probably normal: The Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud is designed to keep the lining of the uterus thin, which is touted as one of the benefits in reducing or eliminating menstrual periods. It will take a cycle or two for the lining of the uterus to build back up to normal. No period for six months would be a cause for evaluation. ...Read more

Mirena (levonorgestrel) removed: 17th Feb. Bled: 19th Feb but natural period was due 26th Feb. No period- when should I be due next? Should I take a pregnancy test?

Mirena (levonorgestrel) removal: After having the mirena (levonorgestrel) removed you can have irregular bleeding for several days to weeks. Mirena (levonorgestrel) does not prevent ovulation, just pregnancy. Now that it is removed you could be pregnant. I would suggest a test if it is negative use protection and re test in a week. If no period and you still have a negative test I would recommend seeing a Dr. ...Read more

Yes but unlikely: Given the way Mirena (levonorgestrel) works, it is unlikely you would conceive in that scenario, but certainly check a pregnancy test if you don't get a menstrual period by the end of the month. For more info: www. AskYourGynecologist. Org ...Read more

Had mirena (levonorgestrel) 5yrs. Removd tues. Bleeding. Period? Had unprot sex 2days later still slightly bleeding. Chance of pregnancy? Start the pill in 1 more day

Start pill now: I would have directed you to start your pill the same day as removing the IUD as the hormone level from the IUD drops within hours of removal and the process of ovulation starts within 2 weeks. I also advise my patients to use condoms when switching birth control. Start your pill today, don't wait. ...Read more

Can u get pregnant right after mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD removal? I got it removed 4 days ago and now I am bleeding could it b my period coming that soon or?

Unlikely, but.....: You can get pregnant immediately after removal of an iud, depending where you are in your cycle. That being said, if you are only 4 days post removal, it is too early to check a pregnancy test. Additionally, your periods may be irregular just after removing the Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud. I recommend you wait a week, then check a urine pregnancy test. Best of luck! ...Read more
