Probably safe butttt: If you are on antibiotics, it is best not to be drinking while on the med and with an infection. Alcohol is a depressant and can affect the white cells via the bone marrow. However, the advice given by many of the manufacturers is that you should avoid drinking alcohol while taking antibiotics and for 48 hours after finishing the course of the treatment. How long do I wait to drink alcohol after finishing clindamycin?

Very short 1/2 life: Clindamycin is out of your system w/in hours of the last pill and there is no danger from the combo in any case. The very important reason NOT to combine them is the reduction in antibiotic effectiveness. You want the effects to be optimal but after the drug is finished and out of your system that's over.
