Examination: You must be checked and examined for gastritis, GERD, peptic ulcer, pancreatic illness or gallbaldder disease. You can temporarily use OTC Mylanta and PPI (Pepcid (famotidine) or Nexium) until seen. No alcohol, aspirin, or NSAIDS (ibuprofen, naproxysn). Examination and testing are mandatory.
Alcohol: I am very stumped by your question. Any alcohol you ingest will absorb into your blood stream through the lining of the stomach whether you have an ulcer or not.
Yes: Alcohol, smoking, caffeine, spicy meal may aggravate gastritis with or without ulcer. Motrin/aspirin (nsaid) and h pylori are believed to be the cause for ulcers. Discuss with GI about your treatment. Fyi ulcers are diagnosed by scoping you stomach (egd), no doctor can tell you you have ulcer by a simple physical exam. Not risky: We know that most ulcers are not caused by door or stomach acid, but by a bacteria which leads to gastritis. Soda won't cause ulcers. I suggest you moderate your intake, of course. You can have too much of a good thing. I am assuming you're following up with your doctors. If not, do so. Good luck.

Lump in my throat. Constantly drinking water. What could this be. How can I treat it. I have acide reflux, hiatal hernia, stomach ulcer, anxiety.
Not dangerous: The sensation of something stuck in the throat is common, but poorly understood. It is often referred to as a "globus" sensation. Probably not related to your hiatal hernia or gerd. It is not dangerous at all. Anxiety could have something to do with it, but that can be difficult to control as well. See your pcp for more advice, but don't worry, it won't hurt you.See 1 more doctor answer

I'm on pantoprazol to treat acid from a ulcer for 4 week but after 3 week I have a wedding comin up and need to no if I can drink alcohol on these?
Yes, but...: Alcohol is okay to take with pantoprazole, but it makes ulcer healing more difficult. I would recommend that if you do drink at the wedding, that you try to take it easy and avoid binging. If you notice red or black stools, seek immediate medical attention. Otherwise, enjoy the wedding!
