How long after taking tylenol (acetaminophen) 650mg should I wait to have a drink with alcohol in it. It will be my first drink in over 1 year?
6 hours: 6 hours should be enoughGet a more detailed answer ›
Very little: It is not recommended to combine the two because both alcohol and tylenol (acetaminophen) are metabolized in the liver. Hepatic toxicity due to tylenol (acetaminophen) is very serious and can lead to problems as severe as liver failure requiring transplant or death. This is not common if taking the recommended dosage but the maximum dose is limited a lot briefly after drinking alcohol, depending on how much you drank.
You're asking wrong?: You are flirting with an acetaminophen overdose. The maximum amount of acetaminophen which should be taken at one time is 650 mg (they have taken the 500 mg tablets off the market), and you are taking over 3 times this amount. Alcohol increases the toxicity of tylenol. I suspect you are in trouble with both substances. Don't drink any alcohol for at least 24 hours if not longer. Get counseling.
Tylenol (acetaminophen): Please tell your parents or guardians this right away. Drinking his medicine could make you ill.
I was curious, what is the recommended time to wait to drink after 650 mg of tylenol (acetaminophen).
For ever: You are too young to drink. Alcohol is a poison that never did any body any good. Stay away from it. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.
Can I take a 500mg tylenol (acetaminophen) after drinking coffee? I had coffee about 25 mins ago.
I use Tylenol (acetaminophen) a few days a week during summer for headaches and took 650mg today. Is it ok to drink tommorow?
Depends how much: If you only used 650 mg each day for 3-4 days & then another 650 mg today you are o.k. for a couple of alcoholic drinks. Better not to drink, it has it's own health problems. If you take Tylenol (acetaminophen) even at 650 mg you may get a medication HA and then need it everyday, so be careful. Have your HA checked by a doctor.
Took 2 extra strength Tylenol over 8 hours ago. Forgot and had half a glass of wine. I never drink and am healthy. Will I be okay?!
YES: This is never advisable however, should not cause permanent issues.
I took 2 Tylenol (acetaminophen) at about 4:30 today for a headache. Then, not thinking, I had 2 drinks at around 8:30-10:00. I rarely drink. Should I be concerned?
Below: You will be fine. I would assume your HA is gone if you felt good enough to have a couple of drinks. In the future it is best to avoid alcohol when taking any medication.
Can I take one tylenol (acetaminophen) for mild hangover? I almost never drink (avg<1 a month)but had a celebratory evening. I do take tylenol (acetaminophen) periodically.
Not good idea: Tylenol (acetaminophen) and alcohol combined not good for your liver. NSAIDs OTC is OK for headache.Hangover is always the unpleasant symptoms accompanied by headache nausea, fatigue, sensitivity to light and sound. Drink altos of water, rest and drink some Gatorade. Feel better.See 1 more doctor answer
No: Not if you took 2 plain or even extra-strength acetaminophen, and even if you got drunk. However, REGULAR use of tylenol, even in therapeutic doses (2 grams or less per day, 4 grams at MOST), together with REGULAR use of alcohol, can cause toxicity and damage the liver. If you take a VERY large amount of tylenol, alcohol can make that more toxic and likely to cause liver damage.
How many hours after taking 2 tylenol (acetaminophen) do I have to wait before drinking one beer?
You don't have to: Tylenol (acetaminophen) does not cause any immediate dysfunction of your liver. Long term use of high doses can lead to liver damage, then you would have trouble with that beer. But you can certainly enjoy a beer responsibly after taking a couple of tylenol (acetaminophen) without fear of dying of liver failure.
Will grapefruit juice affect me if I drink it will taking ibproufen, clindmaycin, clonzaemp, tylenol, (acetaminophen) paroxtine, flovaine plus capsules? What will do?
Meds: Grapefruit juice is a very peculiar as it can affect the properties of many medications. If I was you since you are multiple meds just avoid grapefruit juice. Additionally, I would talk to your doctor as you are on a lot of meds for being so young!
