After my gallbladder removed can I still drink alcohol?

I don't think: Alcohol in moderate amounts will be harmful after cholecystectomy, unless you have other conditions. Consult your surgeon just to make sure.

If you have severe: pain and fever, you might have developed an acute infection, not just colic, which might require antibiotics or even emergency surgery. You should consult with your surgeon, so that you can get proper treatment.

Gall bladder removal: Your fullness in your stomach may not have anything to do with your gall bladder removal and everything with your heavy drinking. You may have a gastritis of your stomach from the irritation from drinking. Stop the drinking to see if you will get better. Your stomach may take one or two weeks to heal. Add over the counter Prilosec which will help the healing process.

More info needed.: When you say "gastritis", what kind of symptoms are you actually referring to? Without more detail, it is hard to know what kind of advice is appropriate. If you give more detail, I'll be happy to try to help. Good luck.

What will happen if you drink 2 beers at 10pm, the same day you had a gallbladder removal surgery at 9am?

What will happen if you drink 2 beers at 10pm, the same day you had a gallbladder removal surgery at 9am?

Probably nothing: Unless you are crossing the international date line, you are asking about an 11 hour time period between the two beers and the surgery...plenty of time to equlibrate the alcohol and water. Hope it was 4% or lower beer.

When is it safe to drink alcohol after a laparoscopic gallbladder removal?

Wait a few days: After any surgical procedure, it is important to remain hydrated to promote healing and good kidney function. Alcohol use commonly results in dehydration, and should be avoided for up to a week after surgery, or until you feel fully "recovered".

GGT nonspecific enzy: An elevated GGT level suggests that something is damaging the liver but does not indicate specifically what. Could be from liver, pancreas even heart as well as other sources.

Is it normal to have pain in the liver area within the first few days after having your gallbladder removed laparoscopically?

Is it normal to have pain in the liver area within the first few days after having your gallbladder removed laparoscopically?

Sometimes: Usually after a lap chole, there is discomfort in the RUQ and mainly the Right shoulder. This is a result of the air in your abdomen. The pain should get better relatively quickly. If you have any nausea or vomiting, or yellow/orange color to your urine, you should see your surgeon. You may also want to try Ibuprofen which sometimes helps with the discomfort.

Bile salt diarrhea?: Bile salt sequestrants may help, but "plugging up" diarrhea will not cure an infection, fix an inflammatory process, improve an ischemic gut, or correct a functional issue. Medical evaluation is recommended appropriate to the duration of your symptoms, associations (bleeding, weight loss, pain, vomiting), as well as your other medical co-morbidities. Call your doctor please and get checked.

What will it be like to get your gallbladder removed?

What will it be like to get your gallbladder removed?

Feeling better: The main reason for cholecystectomy is acute cholecystitis. When stones pass they produce pain and with an impacted stone in the bottom of the gallbladder it can impinge of the cystic artery and cause severe inflammation. Removal relieves symptoms. When done laparoscopically symptoms post op are minimal.
