Can you catch HPV from borrowing a bathing suit from an infected person?

Can you catch HPV from borrowing a bathing suit from an infected person?

Unlikely? Possibly?: Hpv is presumed to survive a short time outside the infected person, so if a swimsuit comes off an infected person and goes immediately onto a second person, it makes sense that the second person can catch the hpv. If a swimsuit goes in the washer/dryer before the second person wears it, the second person is safe. If a swimsuit isn't washed but just hung up to dry, possibly hpv lives hours? Days?

If menstrual blood from a HPV infected person was on a toilet seat, can someone else catch it?

If menstrual blood from a HPV infected person was on a toilet seat, can someone else catch it?

Unlikely: Genital HPV does not infect normal skin, such as that found on the thigh or buttock, which is the area in contact with a toilet seat. The virus must come in contact with genital skin or mucous membrane.

What are the chances of not catching HPV from person who's infected when you have unprotected sex?

Not good: But don't worry! hpv is very common and highly contagious. If you know you have been exposed to it, get regular pap smears and follow up as directed by your doctor.

I took a sip with MY straw from the drink of a person infected with oral HPV (she had already drunk from her cup). Can I catch HPV this way?

I took a sip with MY straw from the drink of a person infected with oral HPV (she had already drunk from her cup). Can I catch HPV this way?

VERY UNLIKELY: The transfer of this germ generally requires direct contact by two surfaces involved. A little germ debris floating in a drink does not have the power to grind into your tissue. I would not sweat the issue.

If I shared pantes from person infected by hpv genital wart can I catch hpv by thes method??

If I shared pantes from person infected by hpv genital wart can I catch hpv by thes method??

Well washed? No: If not washed, perhaps. The most dangerous is skin-to-skin or fluids to skin. Unwashed, recently worn fabric might still be able to spread the disease, so have a test if necessary and BE CAREFUL! Glad you asked. Hope you're fine.

Can I catch a std's such as syphilis, HSV or HPV by wearing someone's else dry bathing suit over my underwear?

Can I catch a std's such as syphilis, HSV or HPV by wearing someone's else dry bathing suit over my underwear?

No risk: No -- there is no chance of acquiring an STD. It wouldn't be a risk even if the bathing suit were set and you weren't wearing underwear. They call them STDs for a reason: they are not transmitted without sex!

I was infected by hpv gental wart since 3 years ago I trated by cryo tell now I don't have wart. I have baby dose my baby 3 month old catch hpv?

I was infected by hpv gental wart since 3 years ago I trated by cryo tell now I don't have wart. I have baby dose my baby 3 month old catch hpv?

Hard to say: If your baby was delivered vaginally and you were shedding HPV virus at the time (can happen without visible warts), the baby might become infected. Babies can have genital or vocal cord warts develop within the first 2 years after birth under those circumstances.

Is it possible to have passed HPV to my daughter while bathing/changing her?

Is it possible to have passed HPV to my daughter while bathing/changing her?

Unlikely: There seems to be a component of active skin to skin contact with the body parts susceptible for HPV transfer. You are unlikely to have your hands contaminated with virus and contact her genital skin to make the transfer. However, mothers can pass the virus to a baby during a vaginal delivery if she is shedding virus. It can lay dormant up to 2 years before showing up as genital or vocal cord warts.

Hpv can be spread if I drank from the same glass, almost at the same time, with an infected person?

Not typical: While hpv could effect any mucous membrane...That is really typically not how its transmitted. I wouldn't worry about it. If it pains you...Just don't drink from other people's glasses.

I have HPV, can I transmit it to my one year old daughter by bathing with her?

I have HPV, can I transmit it to my one year old daughter by bathing with her?

No risk: HPV is not transmitted by nonsexual contact. Household contacts never get it despite years of sharing kitchens, bathrooms, clothing, towels, eating and drinking utensils, etc -- and not by bathing together. Your daughter is not at risk in the slightest. Don't worry about it.

How likely is the contraction of HPV if you have unprotected sex with an infected person?

Unacceptable: Is possible to be lucky if you only had unprotected sex once with an hpv +ve partner. No reliable ststistics available to give %risk or chance. But, even 1% risk would be too high, and risks must be in the 20 -50% range. Please get checked & get prophylactic or necessary treatment asap.

HPV or HSV viruses can be transmitted through towels, washing machines and dryers, toilets, used spoons or cups been used by infected person?

HPV or HSV viruses can be transmitted through towels, washing machines and dryers, toilets, used spoons or cups been used by infected person?

About worries...: As president Franklin Roosevelt once said, in 1933 about 83 years ago, "...let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself..." Diseases are not transmitted via the washer / dryer. No worries. Go ahead and do laundry. Live life safely, but realize that everything we do or don't do will have risks.

What should I do to help HPV leave my body?? What advice is there to make this go away faster?? Regular check-ups & no sex with infected person.

What should I do to help HPV leave my body?? What advice is there to make this go away faster?? Regular check-ups & no sex with infected person.

Likely stays: HPV is from a family of viruses that tend to persist in the body indefinitely. After initial infection, it can go clear any obvious tissue and go into hibernation for decades. That does not mean they always cause cancer, it just means you maintain a lifetime of monitoring so you can remove the initial stage of such change early enough to prevent it's spread.

Even though you have lots of sexual partners and you always use protection is HPV only contracted if there person you have sex with is infected or no?

Even though you have lots of sexual partners and you always use protection is HPV only contracted if there person you have sex with is infected or no?

Question unclear: You must get hpv from contact with another infected person. If you acquired it then your protection has broken down and you should be checked for other stds that may present without symptoms.

An infected person with HPV touches her underneath and then touches my penis what's chance to get HPV. I washed with hot water and soap & dettol.?

A single, brief: Touch as you describe would be unlikely to transmit any viral infection, but just be vigilant and notify your doctor for the development of any suspicious lesions.
