My son eas injured in a car crash caused a grade 2 liver laceration.. Even since he has been home he complains he is always tired should I worrie?

Liver laceration: I have to believe by your comment that the surgeons elected to observe the lacerated liver. Just experiencing the type of trauma enough to lacerated the liver will cause a degree of lethargy for a while. My concern would be the possibility of continued blood loss from the laceration. Follow up with your family physician or surgeon and repeat a complete blood count and possibly a repeat ct scan. ...Read more

My left knee was injured in a car accident in March this year, MRI is clear but it hurts when I lie down why is this?

See orthopoedist: Knee pain can come from several causes. If MRI is clear, that only means there is no internal damage or fracture. You could have jammed the knee cap into its patella femoral groove, or strained the muscle insertions behind the knee, either of which could cause pain on straightening the knee, or stretched the capsule to cause a baker's cyst behind the knee which gets compressed. Good eval is needed ...Read more

I was in a car accident couple months ago and injured my elbow. Now every time I put any pressure on it there is a lot of pain. What's wrong?

Elbow pain : It depends on the mechanism of injury, what side you were on, where you had trauma on your elbow. You should go to an orthopaedic surgeon for a physical exam. Be able to point to your pain with one finger, know the exact day it happened. You may or may not need x-rays but you should get an exam. How's your neck? Good luck. ...Read more

Take breaks: I would not recommend being the driver on this road trip if possible, especially not if you're taking pain medications that cause sedation or impaired ability to drive. During the trip, take regular breaks to get out of the car, stretch and relax. Take a break every 30-60 min, or whenever you find the discomfort increasing. ...Read more
