Are perennial allergies can be healed without recurrence. Or can only be controlled. Have the best eye drops to cure fully?
Close but not quite: Avoidance is the best approach and allergy shots can provide long term benefits for many if they have received it for at minimum of 3-4 years. However allergy shots only work in about 80% of the people. Is this a cure? Not yet but comes pretty close. ...Read more
What can be done in advance of an MRI to ensure the contrast does not cause an allergic reaction? Is there any way to be extra cautious or do a test?
MRI = very safe: No need to do anything in advance. The incidence of true reaction to MRI contrast is on the order of 1 in 10, 000 or less. If your kidney function is decreased for any reason, the radiologist may choose not to give contrast to prevent a rare complication called nsf, but it has nothing to do with allergy. ...Read more

Is it OK to use eye makeup(eyeliner, Eye shadow) when you have Dry Eye Síndrome? Ir is it best not to use it?
Woken up with a dark red mark above my eyelid (where you would put eye shadow). Is this something that will go away on its own? Please help.
Can wearing eye shadow and eye makeup cause changes in the colour of the eyelid? Can makeup cause vitiligo? Is wearing makeup daily bad for skin?
Not that i know of: As far I know, the answer to all those question is no. Wearing makeup can definitely cause irritation, cogged pores etc. but if you are not having a problem then you are probably ok. I would recommend talking to a dermatologist or plastic surgeon (like myself) to get on a good skin care regimen if you are concerned. ...Read more
I am experiencing itchy eyes, sensation of something in eye, shadow over part of vision and eyelid redness.
Easy things first: If this is truly an allergic reaction, one should consider oral anti-histamines. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) works well but might make you drowsy otherwise one can try allegra, claritin, or zyrtec. If one already has a nasal steroid spray perscribe (like fluticasone) that can help a bit as can a nasal anti-histamine spray. If this is a recurring event, a visit to an allergist will be helpful. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I'm allergic to artificial tears and now my eyelids are red and swollen and feel heavy and my eyes are blurry how can I cure it ?
Change tears: There are many brands of artificial tears and a good first step is to try an alternate brand. Allergy to artificial tears is extraordinarily rare. You might also try an anti-allergic otc drop like ophcon-a (available as house brand in most pharmacies). Only if this fails do you need to consult with your ophthalmologist. Steroids are a later use drop when others fail. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Hi my age is 19 year old.i am suffering from allergic bronchitis.Today my pain in left side of head is started. Is it due to flu?how i can cure it?
Hard to say: without an exam, but given you history of "allergic bronchitis", you are also at risk for allergic rhinosinusitis which can trigger headaches/migraines. If it has only been one day there is always a good probability for a viral infection (cold) so treating it conservatively is reasonable with over the counter analgesics and cold/flu medicines like Robitussin or Benadryl (diphenhydramine). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Depends: You may be seeing floaters in your periphery as you look out into the horizon of a rather bright day. As you move your eyes, you may be visualizing the floaters. They would not block or affect vision. If you are noticing blockage of peripheral vision, you need an urgent evaluation to rule out a more serious problem like a retinal detachment, blood vessel blockage, optic nerve disease, or other. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
What happens if a disease is cured or no longer effects you, is it still 'chronic' in the eyes of the military?
Depends which : Disease. Probably depends if it's in a certain classification that's warrants monitoring or not? You need to find out from the Military Health Dept. what classifies or declassifies certain diagnoses. I'm sure they want strong troopers out on the battlefield, not ones that may fall ill fighting, if a battalion needed strength in numbers. But, not everyone's on the front line either. ...Read more
