Can yeast infection and urine infection affect the pregnancy test results......?

Can yeast infection and urine infection affect the pregnancy test results......?

Shouldn't: Neither should affect the protein the pregnancy tests are detecting. Also, the information packet with my in-house pregnancy tests does not list either as affecting the accuracy or sensitivity. Whatever the case, we always follow up with a blood sample sent to the laboratory to confirm. Read more

Treat the vaginitis: Vaginitis caused by bacterias or by yeast/fungus can be quite troublesome but fortunately can be treated. If after these "4 neg. Tests" you are concerned about an unplanned pregnancy and need guidance about safe sex practices, consider discussing your reproductive life plans with a knowledgeable Gyn who could offer you an intrauterine device or a subdermal implant. Be safe. Use condoms too. Read more

I took a cheap pregnancy test first thing in the morning and got a very faint second line (i took povacare medication for a yeast infection). I tested 2 first response pregnancy tests about 30 minutes after and both were negative. Am I pregnant?

Test again tomorrow: There is no really good reason to test multiple times in one day, IMHO. I suggest if you get an early test it makes alot more sense repeating the next day: then you can be pretty certain of your result. Good wishes. Read more

Diflucan/Pregnancy: Studies show that diflucan has been shown to cause a higher rate of miscarriage at 7-22 weeks: - JAMA. 2016;315 (1):58-67. Studies also show that mothers exposed to higher doses of fluconazole showed a higher risk of congenital abnormalities such as cleft lip, palate. ACOG and the FDA recognized a study in 2016 that showed a higher risk of miscarriage. I would personally recommend a serum HCG asap Read more

Is it safe to take diflucan (fluconazole) while trying to conceive? I have a yeast infection but it is too early to take a pregnancy test.

Is it safe to take diflucan (fluconazole) while trying to conceive? I have a yeast infection but it is too early to take a pregnancy test.

Diflucan (fluconazole): Is really safe but it does have liver toxicity for some and pregnancy needs to be as drug free as possible. Yeast feeds on sugar so if you get rid of that you might "starve it out. A course of Nystatin would be O.K. Because it is not absorbed from the bowel and that is the headquarters of the infection. Two questions. Could a yeast infection cause one to urinate more often? And can a UTI affect a pregnancy test to come out false?

Probably no and no: A yeast infection can cause inflammation of the urethra and certainly make urination more painful. A UTI can certainly cause you to urinate more frequently because your bladder is irritated and wants to stay as empty as possible. A UTI has no effect on the accuracy of a pregnancy test. Read more

In november I had a very odd period. It was very very light, very short, and brown. No period in dec. Yeast infection now and negative pregnancy test?

Irregular cycle: There are many causes of irregular cycle. Pregnancy is always a possibility. Vaginitis (yeast or other) can cause bleeding and brown discharge. Hormone irregularities can also interfere with normal cycles. I recommend keeping a menstrual chart and if still irregular in 2 months you need to consult a physician. Read more

May be: It would do no harm to repeat the test. Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. Consult this site for more information on this topic. Http://www. Nichd. Nih. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
