I've been wearing contacts for 3 years, and since i can remember my eyes always get red when i wear them. what can i do to stop the redness?
Change brands: Different brands work better for dry/sensitive eyes. Check back in with your optometrist and see which brands you find most comfortable. Switch to Dailies instead of extended wear lenses. Use artificial tears while wearing the lenses, don't use OTC redness relievers. Shorten wear duration, don't sleep, shower, or swim in them. How irritating!: Red eyes in this case mean one thing - your eyes are irritated. Now the trick is to find out why. It could be your lens solution, the wrong type of contact (you may need the more "breathable ones", the wrong fit, leaving them in to long, a crappy environment (to dry, smoky, etc..).
