Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Is arnica gel or ointment safe during pregnancy for back pain?? I'm 5 month pregnant. Thank you

Is arnica gel or ointment safe during pregnancy for back pain?? I'm 5 month pregnant. Thank you

Lack of data: Hi! And congratulations on your pregnancy! You are APPROPRIATELY concerned about the use of medications and supplements during pregnancy. Arnica is considered homeopathic therapy, and there is not much (if any?) reliable scientific data; and without good data, physicians can't safely recommend its use in pregnancy. The FDA considers pure arnica unsafe. Since unregulated, concentration varies.

Using KY gel makes me feel worse it burns. Is very hard to have sex during my pregnancy. Very dry vegina and can't use the gel?

Using KY gel makes me feel worse it burns. Is very hard to have sex during my pregnancy. Very dry vegina and can't use the gel?

Gel sensitivity: Ky gel is a water/ glycerine lubricant. There are cases where there is sensitivity to one of the components of the jelly. Switching to astroglide may be the answer, since the base is xylitol, which produces less reaction in some people. However, don't forget that this problem may be hormonally related and ought to resolve with the termination of pregnancy (i.e. Birth).

Is bio-freeze or other topically applied arthritic gel a nono during pregnancy? Horrible migraines, will be applied to neck and back of head if okay.

Is bio-freeze or other topically applied arthritic gel a nono during pregnancy? Horrible migraines, will be applied to neck and back of head if okay.

Maybe: I just checked the biofreeze website and drugs. Com. Basically, it uses menhol applied topically to control pain, with some success. Drugs. Com said that there are no studies done to prove or disprove safety in pregnancy. Therefore, I wouldn't use it unless your ob/gyn has had some success with it and recommends it as O.K.

Is topically using coconut oil, castor oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil & aloe vera gel (as homemade lash/brow serum) safe to use during pregnancy?

Is topically using coconut oil, castor oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil & aloe vera gel (as homemade lash/brow serum) safe to use during pregnancy?

Pregnancy-safe oils: Castor oil and sweet almond oil may bring on early labor, if used earlier than term. Coconut oil and olive oil are safe in pregnancy. Topical vitamin E oil is felt to be safe, but may cause contact dermatitis in some people, as can topical aloe vera. "When in doubt, leave it out" applies in pregnancy. Https://www. Ncbi. Nlm. Nih. Have fungal infection in mouth, what is safe during pregnancy? Also is cetylpyridinium chloride+lidocaine HCl gel safe during pregnancy??

Cetylpyridinium: As a general answer, cetylpyridium is not safe for pregnant women. It can severely damage the liver of the fetus. For oral thrush, gargle with salt water, avoid sweets, eat some plain yogurt every day. If it is really severe, then topical Nystatin (swish and spit).

Is the homeopathic skin gel prosacea safe to use in pregnancy?

Is the homeopathic skin gel prosacea safe to use in pregnancy?

Prosacea gel: Prosacea gel has the homeopathic remedy sulphur in it, at a potency of 1x. In general, homeopathic remedies are very safe in pregnancy. Please know that this may or may not be the remedy you need for a facial rash in pregnancy, since it differs from rosacea. (chloasma vs rosacea.) also there are paraben additives in this particular product that I wouldn't want on my face even if not pregnant.
